Tony Stewart has never been one to hold back his emotions, and after his win at the FedEx 400 in Dover on Sunday the 2011 NASCAR champion certainly let fly. After Stewart’s first win since July 2012 (a span of 30 races), Stewart addressed the fact that there had been rumors about potential changes to his race team. He refuted all of those rumors, claiming the media simply made them up and said no one ever asked him to substantiate them. Stewart additionally claimed reports that crew chief Steve Addington could be replaced were completely inaccurate. Here is what the man known as “Smoke” had to say about the rumors: “I was ticked. I don’t need that crap. I’ve got enough stuff to worry about, keeping three cars competitive and trying to get them in that state and having to deal with a bunch of bull crap that’s inaccurate and speculation.” “You might want to talk to the guys that write the checks, the guys that work there, and find out the facts before you guys go throwing darts on the dartboard. “I’ll be honest, it pissed me off because it was a big distraction to my team, my organization. It kept us from doing our job, because people are hearing rumors and reading what you guys write, and it was totally inaccurate and unprofessional in my opinion.” Stewart mainly aimed his tirade at Sporting News NASCAR writer Bob Pockrass, who has a reputation for stirring the pot.
