Celtics Green ...a boston celtics blog.:
Tonight, the Celtics will host another terrible team and either almost lose or lose. In their last two games, they've looked awful. They barely beat the Pistons and then were embarrassed by the Cavs. They really need this one. If they lose, hope will be officially lost. Here are tonight's five things:
5. NO MORE CRAWFORD:
Limit his playing time, don't let him shoot, and definitely don't let him shoot three-pointers. Against Cleveland, Crawford shot just 3/14 from the field. From behind the arch, he shot just 1/4. He helped the Cavs Friday night more than he did the Celtics.
4. MAKE YOUR OPEN SHOTS:
For pretty much all of Friday's game, the Celtics struggled when it came to shooting. Most of the shots they took were open. Yet they only shot 40.4% from the field. This needs a lot of improvement.
3. STAY OUT OF FOUL TROUBLE:
Shavlik Randolph, who scored 13 points in their last game, fouled out pretty early. When a guy's having a great game, he needs to let up on the defense. He was way too aggressive.
2. HOPE PIERCE AND KG ARE BACK:
I don't want this to be used as an excuse, but the Celtics definitely play better when those two are in the lineup. They need them back now. Now is their playoffs. They need that 6 seed.
1. JUST WIN:
I don't care if they win by 1 or 50. Right now, they just need to win. It's all the same on paper. If they drop this game, they will only be digging a deeper hole for themselves.
Tip-off for this one will be at 6:00 pm ET. You can see it on CSN-NE and CSN-WA.
BEST OF MAXIM
It's amazing how teams that are tanking and want to lose every game still get up for the Celtics. Maybe it's Byron Scott's Laker hate of the Celtics or years of getting beaten by them but they all hate the Celtics. And everyone hates on Tommy. But I love him, and don't want any announcer but him. I'm not so upset about this loss. We didn't have ...

Jeff Green scored 23 points and Shavlik Randolph contributed with a carrer-high 16 points, but it wasn't enough as theCavaliers beat the Boston Celtics 97-91. Jared Weiss from CLNS Radio recaps the game in tonight's Three at the Buzzer.
BOSTON — Doc Rivers admits he does not watch a whole lot of women’s basketball. Between coaching his own team and closely following high school, AAU and college basketball thanks to his son Austin‘s stellar play over the last few years, Rivers spends plenty of time watching the men’s version of the game.
The Celtics coach did find it intriguing, though, when a reporter mentioned...
In a show of bitterness, the Boston Celtics Jordan Crawford gave the Boston Globe a really hard time when Baxter Holmes attempted to interview him about facing his previous team the Washington Wizards on Sunday.
When the subject was brought up to Crawford after practice on Saturday he responded by saying ‘who?’

Celtics fans can relax a bit before playoffs start the last week of this month as they know their team will be one of the contenders. The only question left is who they will face in the first round!Coach Doc Rivers stated that he would rather not play Miami in the first round but that his team will be prepared to face anyone! Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett re-affirmed this by saying...
The Celtics beat the Washington Wizards in a game that featured the return of Paul Pierce (who sat the last game due to an ankle injury) and Kevin Garnett, who hadn’t played since March 8. However, it was Brandon…
8:12: The Celtics had a very decent first quarter. They currently are ahead 28-26, but they should be doing better. They gotta beat these weak teams. Technically, they're doing that, but they need to do it better. This is getting ridiculous.
Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce returned tonight, the Celtics moved Jeff Green into the starting lineup for good (and Courtney Lee to the bench, sorry Courtney), and the Celtics put together a quality win over John Wall and the Washington Wizards. A 19-3 run put the Celtics up big in the third quarter and the C’s cruised to an easy victory aside from a collective brain-fart by the...
BOSTON -- What storyline do you want to talk about? The return of Kevin Garnett? Garnett played 25 minutes and scored 12 points while grabbing six rebounds. How about Paul Pierce getting back in the lineup? The Boston Celtics…
The Boston Celtics defeated the Washington Wizards 107 to 96 tonight at the TD Garden. Pierce and Garnett both returned to the lineup, which gave the entire team a nice boost. This win was a full team win, as 5 players scored in double figures and 3 more almost did. Flat-out the Wizards were no match for the Celtics talent. KG was sharp in his return to the court, but the leader...
BOSTON — Doc Rivers has been asked several times over the past few weeks about how closely he is following his team’s position in the standings. When the query was posed again Friday after the Celtics’ loss to the Cavaliers, Rivers jokingly rolled his eyes.
“How many times do I have to answer this?” he asked, putting up his hands and looking around the interview room at...
The Boston Celtics could be getting back their two top scorers at the same time.
There's a chance Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett will both return Sunday night at home when the Celtics try to defeat the visiting Washington Wizards for the seventh straight time.
Pierce sat out Friday's 97-91 loss to lowly Cleveland with a sore left ankle, but returned to practice Saturday...

With just a handful of games left, there’s a hyper-focus on who might get minutes when the playoffs begin. Last night, Doc went with the big lineup he promised when he made Jeff Green a starter: Avery Bradley, Paul Pierce, Green, Brandon Bass, and Kevin Garnett. That moved Chris Wilcox to the bench, and created an interesting little “Shavlik Randolph vs. Wilcox” scenario...
