The Celtics swept their home-and-home series against the Washington Wizards. Boston needed overtime to best the opposition on their home floor, but survived by a score of 100-94. Brandon Bass tallied five big points in overtime, giving the Celtics an 97-92 lead. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce iced the the game with free throws. Bass was on the court for most of the end of regulation and for all of overtime. After appearing to lose his starting role to Jared Sullinger, this was a big showing for the veteran power forward. With the score tied at 88, Rajon Rondo clanged a three-pointer at the end of regulation, allowing the game to see the extra period. The Celtics had a decent lead for most of the second half, but started settling for jump shots inside of four minutes. That quickly caused their lead evaporate. Kevin Seraphin's dunk knotted things up at 80, around the three-minute mark. Kevin Garnett was whistled for a technical foul after stealing the ball from Seraphin and ge...

Brandon Bass trying to remain positive about yo-yo rotation

Via Mike Petraglia of WEEI.com Brandon Bass was asked after Monday’s practice how much of a challenge it will be for him to go from starting role to the bench and back. “That’s life, man,” said Bass. “You wake up, you don’t know what to expect. Sometimes it’ll be like that. You’ve just got to make the best of it.” I believe Brandon Bass wants to do what’s best...

Your Morning Dump… Where the Garnett/Sullinger ticket is a winning one

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “I thought he did a great job,” Garnett said of Sullinger’s first start during the Celtics [team stats]’ win in Washington last Saturday. “He’s a no-nonsense guy. Not that I’m shooting down the other...

Rajon Rondo teaches algebra at high school (Picture)

As you may figure, I wasn't a math major in college and the subject itself isn't exactly the simplest to teach to others, so I was a little impressed when I came across this story.Yesterday, Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo tweeted the below photo of himself teaching algebra at Burke High School in the Dorchester section of Boston:Rondo might have been the best passing substitute...

Kevin Garnett Compares Building Chemistry to Watching TV, Claims He’s a ‘DirecTV Guy’ (Video)

The Celtics made a number of offseason moves, so it’s understandable that they’re still trying to find the right chemistry on the court. But if you’re a C’s fan who is losing patience, allow KG to explain the situation. Kevin Garnett, who recorded 20 points and 13 rebounds during the Celtics’ overtime win Wednesday, was asked after the game whether it’s possible to speed...

The NBA should credit assists on made free throws

In case you haven’t noticed, I’m very interested in Rajon Rondo’s streak of consecutive games with 10 or more assists, which now stands at 28 (the 4th longest in NBA history).  While sitting in the Garden Wednesday night and paying very close attention to Rondo’s assist count, I had an epiphany of sorts. There were at least 3 or 4 plays where Rondo found a teammate wide...
