Found March 10, 2013 on Celtics Life:
RealGM Forward Shavlik Randolph will sign his second 10-day contract with the Boston Celtics on Monday morning, agent Joel Bell told RealGM. After signing a first 10-day deal on March 1, Randolph has yet to play in a game for the Celtics. But the 29-year-old big man traveled with the Celtics on their two-game road trip and coach Doc Rivers has made clear to management his desire to keep intact the current roster heading into the final month of the regular season. The Celtics also signed D.J. White to a second 10-day contract on Sunday. White and Randolph were both signed to add big man depth to the Celtics after the season ending injury to Jared Sullinger and the Jason Collins trade. Celtics Life columnist Eric Blaisdell correctly predicted that White would not get much playing time in Boston and that has in fact been the case for White and Randolph. Right now the back-up bigs for the Celtics are Chris Wilcox and Jeff Green and barring a losing streak or injury, don't expec...

Doc rips team over shot selection

The Boston Celtics took care of business on the defensive end Sunday in a 91-79 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, but weren't successful on the offensive end. The Celtics held the Thunder to 44.1 percent shooting and didn't let

Jason Terry Soars in Fighter Jet Inspired Reeboks

Jason Terry soared last night in a Fighter Jet inspired pair of the Reebok Sublite Pro Rise. The upper featured a camouflage print with fighter jet detailing. This is not the first time Reebok has made an airplane inspired shoe for the Jet. While in Dallas, Reebok made a custom Jet inspired pair of the ZigSlash. No word if this special pair of the Sublite Pro Rise will hit retailers...

Paul Pierce ‘Wouldn’t Give Any Negative Backlash’ If Celtics Buy Him Out This Offseason

Unthinkable as it may seem given his recent stellar play, Paul Pierce will one day play his final game in a Celtics uniform. That could be as soon as this summer, in fact. The Celtics have a $5 million buyout in Pierce’s contract, which becomes guaranteed for more than $15 million if he is still on the roster come July. The team therefore has to decide whether the $10 million savings...

5 Things Celtics must do to win - Thunder 3/10

I remember, way back when the Celtics had the six game win streak to get to 20-17, saying that the Celtics wouldn't lose another game until Sunday, March 10. Looking ahead at their schedule, I saw a lot of winnable games that, as you know, they didn't win. For example, the Bobcats and Lakers games. Now we have reached March 10, and the Celtics have lost four games since then...

Celtics Cannot Hope to Contend With Elite Teams Like Thunder If High Turnover Rate Continues

Jason Terry‘s pass was not great, but it could have been caught. Perhaps it should have been caught. It was not, though, and that said everything about the Celtics’ loss to the Thunder on Sunday. As the Celtics guard dribbled down the lane on a three-on-two break late in the first quarter, he tried to dish off to Chris Wilcox moving ahead of him on the left. The bounce pass was...

Celtics Soar Back to Boston: Get Important Win Over the Hawks!

The Boston Celtics have been soaring through their schedule the past week and more importantly have been walking away with much needed wins. The scenario was no different Friday night back in Boston where they went into an overtime thriller with the Atlanta Hawks before coming away with the 107-102 win! The win must have been especially gratifying for Coach Doc Rivers who had a long...

Paul Pierce goes on the record, says he wants to see the Heat in the playoffs

The Miami Heat are the best team in basketball. Whether you love them (doubtful if you're reading this), hate them (quite likely if you're reading this), respect them, or not - they have proven it. They are the defending champs, have the best winning percentage in basketball, and are in the midst of an 18 game winning streak; the longest such streak in the NBA this season...

Cold as ice: Oklahoma City Thunder beat Boston Celtics 91-79

Jeff Green's return to Oklahoma City was less than stellar. The worst part about this afternoon’s loss was the defense.I don’t mean that the defense was bad. It was fantastic. Kevin Durant shot just 6-16 from the field. Russell Westbrook managed just 11 field goal attempts. The Thunder overall were 44% from the field and 25% from 3-point range. The Celtics were on point throughout...

Bird’s Rookie Year — Game 68 vs. the 76ers

Celtics (52-15) vs. Philadelphia (50-17) March 7, 1980 Boston Garden The Celtics took a monumental step to locking up the Atlantic Division by thrashing Philadelphia in front of a capacity crowd at the Garden, 111-92. “Boston is a very good team,” said Doug Collins, speaking to The Boston Globe’s Bob Ryan in his typical articulate manner after the game.  “They’re good...
