NEW YORK – They came dressed in black. They got out to an 11-0 lead. It looked like the Knicks were about to bury the body when Brandon Bass suddenly woke up. The Celtics got to the line seven times in the next five minutes and suddenly they had momentum again. The Celtics got their first lead of the game on a Kevin Garnett pick-and-roll from Paul Pierce and never relinquished it again. What was once a series marred by horrid execution and general confusion on the offensive end for Boston is being flipped on its head. In what appears to have suddenly become the team’s new mantra, the Celtics are beginning to tighten the screws on the casket they are building for the Knicks. “We was going to a funeral man, but it looks we got buried” J.R. Smith said. “I’m done with this black stuff.” The Knicks, who wore black to the game to signify that Game 5 would be the Celtics’ funeral, continued their shooting slump and relied primarily on iso play while Doc Rivers’ squad displayed its most w...

Bring On More Bad Ass Bass!

Brandon Bass has quietly put together a solid effort against the Knicks in these playoffs - particularly on the defensive end where he helped slow Melo down in Game 4.  Although Melo still managed to score 36 points, he struggled through a 10-of-35 (28.6% FG) shooting night, including 0-for-7 on threes.  It was Melo's worst shooting game of the series and it was largely due...

Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett Go Out With Bang, If This Indeed Turns Out to Be Their Last Stand

Your Morning Dump… Where there are no answers yet on the future of KG and Truth

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “I haven’t really thought about it, to be honest with you. Boston Celtics rally but come up short, fall to New York Knicks 88-80

I had a recap written, a morose send off to a lost season, but like so many times before the Celtics made me tear the whole thing up. When Avery Bradley stole the ball and cut the lead to four I believed, in that moment I doubted the obituary I had resigned myself to writing and though the C’s came up short I wonder what comes next. When the Knicks’ lead ballooned to twenty I...

Comments from the Other Side - Knicks Game 5 5/1

Knicks fans are hysterical.   So boastful and full of themselves at the beginning and  all their players are the best ever.   They start losing the game and all their players are all losers and should be cut.    And when all else fails, blame the refs.   Pretty much, the officiating wasn't all that bad in this game.  The Knicks shot 3 more free throws than the Celtics...
