Boston Celtics legend Larry Bird turned 56 today. It seems like just yesterday that he retired from the Celtics, and at the risk of dating myself, it doesn’t seem much longer ago that he first burst onto the scene in Boston. A compilation of all the memorable moments Larry Legend gave us would be a daunting [...]

The Boston Celtics continue to struggle in the middle of the Eastern Conference.
A recent series of missteps by temperamental point guard Rajon Rondo has done nothing to elevate their cause.
In their 95-94 overtime loss to Philadelphia on Friday, Rondo flubbed what should have been a game-winning scenario.

It's been eight days, and three games, since Doc Rivers called his team soft following their rather embarrassing loss at home against the Nets. Since then the team is 2-1, beating the Blazers by 18, losing in Milwaukee by 3 (both of these games without Rajon Rondo) and then beating the Timberwolves by 10 last night. More than just the results though, the team has played differently...
Paul Pierce and the Celtics were losers on Friday night
Rajon Rondo had a triple-double by the time the third quarter was over, but you would not have been able to tell from his post-game comments.
“I should have took the layup,” said Rondo after he missed a game-winning opportunity slipping while taking a jump-shot. “I tried to make a plant and just slipped.”
As an aside...
Kevin Garnett has been one of the NBA’s best rebounders his entire career. In fact, he had a streak of recording at least one rebound in every game he played since January 21, 1997. But on Saturday, that streak came to an end when he failed to grab a rebound in the Boston Celtics’ 92-79 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Celtics may have won the game, but Garnett was not happy...
The Red Claws get back into the winning column with a 113-111 win over the Erie Bayhawks. With Kris Joseph still with the Celtics, Chris Wright filled in nicely at the small forward spot and finished with 14 points 10 rebounds and 6 assists.
Fab Melo started and finished with 6 points (3-8), 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 3 blocks in just under 26 minutes. Most importantly...
The Celtics dropped the first of their back to back home and home series with the Sixers 95-94. They had had a chance to win it in regulation but Rondo missed a shot at the buzzer. They then had a chance to win it at the buzzer in overtime and, once again Rondo missed the potential game winner at the buzzer. Instead, Evan Turner's shot with 3.9 seconds to go that put the Sixers...

8 a.m. ET: The Celtics are lucky to be playing at home Saturday, because they made need an extra pick-me-up from the home crowd. The Celtics will be playing their third game in four nights and their second straight game against the Sixers, a scrappy squad that has renewed its rivalry with Boston in the last two seasons.
Although such a tight stretch of games normally would put Celtics...
It's time for the best Tweets from Tommy Heinsohn during the rematch with the Sixers and Tommy was on his game tonight! As Jeff Green was called for traveling, Tommy was counting his steps and Mike wasn't too thrilled with his counting skills.

Chris (far right) with his cousin Jackie & friend Mark
About 2 years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting die-hard Celtics fan Chris H, aka “Hal Dogg” at TD Garden. This guy is just full of energy and Celtic Pride. He’s at the Garden for pretty much every home game with the attitude that the Celtics are going to win, no matter what.
Chris, a 23 year-old C’s fan from Blackstone...
Of course had Len Bias lived the Celtics would've likely won the 1987 title. Maybe 1988 too. I actually one time saw a Philadelphia 76ers 1984 NBA Champs t-shirt in a store, which is weird since they didn't even make the Finals that year. Of course if this was the caricature shirt of the 2010 bunch (with Sheed and Finley) I would've just bought it myself but this...
Meet Courtney Lee, shooting guard for the Boston Celtics.
He’s a decent on-ball defender at-best and can score in bunches when given the chance. Some would call that being a role player, but I assure you that’s not the case.
