Boston Celtics center Kevin Garnett did not participate in Monday’s morning shootaround and is officially a game-time decision for tonight’s game against the Miami Heat, according to the team.
Garnett has been bothered by a left adductor strain that forced him to sit out Saturday’s game against Charlotte and Sunday’s practice. Rivers said on Sunday: “We don’t know what he’s going to do [Monday]. My guess is he’s 50/50 at best.”
Like I said this morning, I don’t like our chances without KG. And it puts a LOT of pressure on the guards to really destroy the point of Miami’s attack and force them to start their offense real late in the game. It also puts pressure on them to not turn the ball over. Live-ball turnovers will murder the Celtics against the Heat.
Of course, now every time I hear that someone’s a game-time decision, I think of this:
