Yesterday, while attending Boston's summer league victory, Jeff Green and Courtney Lee sat down to speak about Paul Pierce's and Kevin Garnett's legacies. Here's what they had to say.
Lee on wishing Pierce had retired a Celtic:
“As a player and as a fan watching him growing up, you kind of wish that he did. But it’s a business. The only thing I can say is it’s a business and things happen, man. But I’m sure the fans and the whole Celtics organization appreciate Paul and the years that he’s spent with the organization."
Lee on post-trade emotions:
“Losing KG and Paul and JET, those are all guys that are instrumental to the team. Especially Paul and KG, what they meant to the Boston Celtics organization. It was definitely strange, it was definitely strange, but we’re moving forward now. Everybody in the organization, all the fans – everybody wishes those guys the best, but now they’re on the opposite team. It’s going to be a little weird going against them but...

How the hell did TMZ know Paul Pierce was at this supermarket in LA? They must have been stalking other celebrities and stumbled into Pierce.
Anyway… The Truth claims he’ll play another 10 years and win a championship next year.
They say nothing good ever comes easy. That you always enjoy victory that much more after you've tasted the pain of defeat. That it's always more gratifying to reach the mountain top when you've failed many times before.
This is true whether you're playing high school, college, or professional sports. Hell, it's true of life in general. Those who have never...
The Boston Celtics took out a full-page ad Friday in the Boston Globe to thank Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett after the blockbuster trade with the Brooklyn Nets was finalized. The ad showed photos of Garnett lifting the
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
“Now it’s time for the other guys to step up. We have (Rajon) Rondo, who has won a championship. He knows what it takes to win. We have myself, who was part of a 50-win team in Oklahoma. Kevin and Paul taught...
The trade is finally official today. Classy move by the organization, I'd expect nothing less.

Boston Celtics new head coach Brad Stevens spent time with Rajon Rondo at the All-Star point guard’s summer camp Thursday and said Rondo was, “really, really intelligent, really, really insightful.” Stevens joined Dennis & Callahan of WEEI (93.7 FM) on Friday morning and said he met up with Rondo in Louisville, KY. “I just enjoyed spending
As expected the Heat have to be favorites for the NBA title next year, but the Pierce and KG to Brooklyn trade does make things interesting. A starting five of Brook Lopez, KG, Pierce, Joe Johnson and Deron Williams is one of the best starting five in the league and could give the Heat a run for their money. They presumably would pose serious match-up problems with this big lineup...
A lot people — including their own top personnel man — seem to think the Celtics are not going to be very good next season. Three members of the Celtics’ young core are not among those people.
Speaking with reports at the Orlando Summer League, Jeff Green, Courtney Lee and Jared Sullinger bristled at talk of the Celtics “tanking” or “rebuilding” in the near future....
Celtics thank Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett in today’s Boston Globe.
This is pretty great.
Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce helped the Boston Celtics win a NBA championship, but it was time to move on. The Celtics traded both players to the Brooklyn Nets. The Celtics are in major rebuilding mode at the moment.
The pair help win a NBA Championship for the Celtics. The Celtics showed why they are one of the best franchises in all of Pro Sports and took an AD in the Boston...
ESPNs famous “Body Issue” landed today, and it featured quite a few basketball stars. The poses are always a little suspect (remember that part in Austin Powers where they’re constantly holding stuff in front of their junk? That was a bit more natural), but I’ll say it, the bods are chiseled. Take John Wall for instance – guy’s injured a lot, but he clearly spends his...
In less than 48 hours, the Celtics and Nets will finalize their mega-deal, and Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett will officially be gone. It's going to be tough to see them go, but at the very least most Celtics fans understand the deal. Boston needs to rebuild, and picking up three first round picks in exchange for two guys on the wrong side of 35 is a good deal for the long term...
