A day after throwing the ball away 21 times in a loss to Indiana, the Celtics were on the same path against the Hawks on Saturday. They had committed 15 turnovers through three quarters and six in the third quarter alone, allowing the Hawks to pull away despite shooting just 36 percent from the field. Then, a funny thing happened. The Celtics stopped turning it over. Jordan Crawford, who led all players with four turnovers entering the final frame, committed none the rest of the way. The Celtics gave away the ball just two times in the fourth quarter, preventing the Hawks from scoring easy baskets while the Celtics clamped down on defense. “Well, we talked about the other team was wearing white and we were wearing green, so we focused on the green part,” Celtics coach Brad Stevens joked. “No, I don’t know. I don’t know why we go through those stretches. The third quarter bothers me, how we played, and that’s been a little bit of a conundrum for us. I’ve got to do more to learn that ...

Crawford’s 10 fourth quarter points crucial in C’s win

Jordan Crawford’s 12 points may not jump off the page when looking at last night’s box score, but Steez was instrumental in Boston winning on the road in Atlanta last night. 10 of his 12 points came in the decisive final quarter where the Celtics snuffed out the Hawks’ hopes of trying to hand Boston it’s seventh straight loss. Crawford’s biggest bucket was a running jumper...

Is Crawford gunning more than he needs to?

Jordan Crawford has long been known as a scorer in the NBA. Since the 2013/14 season began, he has been handed the reins to the team and named as the starting point guard. This allowed Avery Bradley to step away from the one, something that allowed all of us to heave massive sighs of relief. With careful ball handling and deft passing instincts, Crawford has balanced his ball distribution...

Phil Pressey Keeps Control and Other Impressions From Celtics’ Win Over Bobcats

It goes without saying that Jordan Crawford has been the steadying hand for the Celtics this season. Partly, it goes without saying because it just sounds weird. But it also goes without saying because it’s so true. Except the Celtics actually go better when Crawford went to the bench on Monday, and not because Crawford was playing particularly poorly, either. Although backup point...

Recap: Second half disaster leads to blowout loss

For one half, the Celtics were pulling off a very Miami-like performance.  They faced a team that clearly felt they were entitled a win and made them pay for it.   The Celtics went into the half with a 50-42 lead, fresh off a banked-in-three from Jordan Crawford, who was perfect in the first half for 19 points, and feeling good. Then the third quarter happened. Suddenly, the ball...

Game #16 Recap: Boston Celtics Drop Charlotte Bobcats, 96-86

Boston Celtics 96, Charlotte Bobcats 86 The Celtics met the Charlotte Bobcats in Charlotte tonight after a win at the Atlanta Hawks Saturday night.  In what seems to be a trend, Boston did not start well tonight. 5 Things Celtics must do to win tonight - Bobcats 11/25

After rallying to beat the Hawks on Saturday, the Celtics will conclude this small road trip tonight when they head to Charlotte to face the 7-7 Bobcats. Earlier this month, the Cats actually beat the C's in Boston, 89-83. So if you think this game will be an easy W, you should think again. But, since the Celts confidence is up right now, they definitely could win this game....

Comments from the Other Side - Pacers 11/22

Once again, the Celtics had a strong first half and then succumbed to turnovers with too much dribbling and not enough passing. They stopped running after the half. Jared Sullinger was playing with the flu and losing Kelly was a blow as well. And, they have to get right back on the court tonight against the Hawks.  My favorites are highlighted in bold.  What are yours?  ...

5 Things Celtics must do to win tonight - Pacers 11/22

After almost beating the Spurs on Wednesday, the Celtics will head back to the TD Garden with a little momentum tonight when they play host to the 9-1 Indiana Pacers. So far this season, as you can tell by their record, the Pacers have been pretty dominant. So, unfortunately, I must pick them to win this game. I think it'll be close, but in the end, Indiana will just score more...
