Kevin Garnett noted that on Friday night’s game, “The jungle was rockin’.”
This certainly beats “Jingle Bell Rock” or even “Rock of Ages.”
KG apparently responds to the hollers of Tarzan swinging through the vines. We really cannot see Ray Allen giving the cry for Jane or even calling Rondo, but surely Paul Pierce has more often than not been party to the primal scream.
Whether the hard rock or soft rock was being applied to Miami Heat, they seemed to be unable to see the Celtics for the trees.
The beating tom-toms of the restless Natives apparently set Kevin Garnett into his Emerald Forest routine. Where else would you find Green Mansions if not in the Garden of Causeway Street?
You will not find any Cheetahs among the Celtics. There is a Witch ‘Doc,’ but he marches to a different drummer than KG.
Garnett likes to Rock Around the Clock, but usually he only does this when he is at home at Malibu. This week is proving special for KG. He is rejuvenated. He has caugh...
BEST OF MAXIM
We’ve all noticed Kevin Garnett’s increased production, which has been consistent and relentless since the All-Star break as the final year in his contract winds down. If you believe Garnett has increased his focus or intensity because this is a contract year, I have a time machine I’d love to sell you. He has more than 291 million reasons not to chase his next contract,...
SAY IT AIN'T SO
A report says 36-year-old forward Kevin Garnett could consider retiring after the season when his contract with the Celtics expires.
THE JUNGLE WAS ROCKIN'
Kevin Garnett was juiced after the Celtics' win over the Heat on Friday night. "The jungle was rocking tonight," Garnett said, thanking the TD Garden fans for matching his intensity in the playoff game. Garnett gave an inspiring performance that included 24 points, 11 rebounds and even some knuckle push-ups. See what he and Ray Allen had to say after the game on NESN Daily.
Saw this video surface on Twitter this afternoon.
Even if you don’t like Kevin Garnett, you have to respect his passion for the game.
WALTHAM, Mass. -- The playoffs are about storylines, and the facts usually have to be tweaked to fit into the narrative. That is why the story of the Celtics' victory over the Sixers in the last round was about the "Big Three" standing strong one final time, when it was really about two exceptional defenses and even though it is possible that Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen...
8 a.m. ET: Home court advantage has held so far in both conference finals, and the Celtics hope to keep it that way Sunday. The Celtics need a win to pull even with the Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals, but they know it will not be easy. LeBron James has been a handful all series, and he is not likely to slow down with his legacy on the line. Kevin Garnett capitalized on his...
Kevin Garnett is averaging a team-high 19.7 points against the Heat.
Kevin Garnett had 24 points and 11 rebounds and Rajon Rondo scored 21 points with 10 assists to lead the Boston Celtics to a 101-91 victory over the Heat in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals on Friday night, cutting Miami's lead in the series to 2-1.
Game 4 is Sunday night in Boston.
LeBron James scored 34 points but the NBA MVP and the rest of the Heat went cold during...
In many ways, Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo are the same person, they just express themselves a little differently. Think of them as cars with the same engine, but different bodies.
The thing about their personalities, though, is that they're always right... at least in their own minds. And they're not going to believe they're wrong until someone they respect...
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
"The next game, game 4 is going to be even more. You gotta anticipate them making adjustments. We're gonna make some adjustments. But the tenacity, the desperation has to be there. We...
Rajon Rondo high-fiving Kevin Garnett after a basket in Game 3 Friday night. Solid performances from each of them will be key in Game 4 if the Celtics are to win.
The Boston Celtics are treating Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Miami Heat the same way they treated Game 3 Friday: as a must-win. And as a Celtics fan, I wouldn’t rather have them treat it any...
Tonight the proud Celtics wouldn’t say die, and behind 24 points from Kevin Garnett and 23 points from Paul Pierce, Boston held off a late Miami charge to secure a 101-91 victory to get on the board in this series — they now trail two games to one, with Game 4 set for Sunday night at 8:30 P.M. Eastern.
The Celtics led by only two points (30-28) after the first quarter, but gradually...
The Big Four can only take the Celtics so far. Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen aren't getting any younger, and Game 2 proved that even when Rajon Rondo takes over, a Celtics win is not guaranteed. In order to take down the Miami Heat and advance to the NBA Finals, the Celtics need to get contributions off the bench. In Game 3, Marquis Daniels stepped up, providing energy...
That ole Celtic magic remains. After falling 2-0 to the mighty Miami Heat in their NBA Eastern Conference Finals series the Celtics roared back with a 101-91 win over the Heat in Game 3.
This time Rajon Rondo didn’t have to do it all. Oh Rondo contributed big time scoring 21 points with 10 assists and six rebounds but Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett pick it up.
