Kevin Garnett didn’t exactly make the dramatic All-Star game exit many Celtics fans had been hoping for when he cryptically leaked last week that this would be his last appearance in the event. He did take the floor as the starting center for the Eastern Conference, however, fulfilling his due diligence in the lineup and saluting the fans. The big man does, after all, have a surging ball club poised to make noise on the NBA betting line in the second half of the 2012-13 season that he’d like to stay healthy for. When you’re 26 years old, you can afford to log as many meaningless minute as you want in February, but at 36 it’s better to be more reserved. Playing just six minutes in his 15th and presumed final All-Star Game, Garnett made sure to soak it all in, embracing the perennial tradition that’s made him a household name anywhere basketball is appreciated on this planet. With 22-1 odds of winning the NBA championship, however, he’ll have work to do when he gets back to home. Thou...

Kevin Garnett does yoga

NBA players have very stressful lives on and off the court from the physicality to the mental awareness of the game. They need an outlet, a way to bring them back to center. Kevin Garnett Stays Balanced, Flexible With Yoga, Early-Morning Runs on Beach (Video)

Kevin Garnett always seemed like a “downward dog” guy. The Celtics center gave a look inside the preparation that makes him amazingly durable at the age of 36 in a series of advertisements for ZICO coconut water. Garnett’s work includes 5:30 a.m. runs on the beach and some calming yoga, which helps keep him from picking up those “dumb fouls” he was susceptible to early...

CC video of the day: Garnett cracks on Sager's fashion sense

There is so much to look forward to during the NBA's All-Star break. The dunk contest, three-point shootout, the celebrities in the arena, the best-of-the-best NBA player's on one court and of course, what incredibly outlandish suit TNT's Craig Sager will wear. For years Sager has worn some crazy looking suits which run the gambit of fashion mistakes. From mismatched...

Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge said Tuesday before the Celtics' 97-90 loss to the Denver Nuggets that a trade before Thursday's deadline would be unlikely, which may stun a few personnel people around the league.

Why Aren’t Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Garnett Still Feuding?

Just five weeks ago, Carmelo Anthony hated Kevin Garnett.  We all know the story; Anthony and Garnett were going at it in a tightly contested game back on Jan. 8.  It got chippy and the two started jawing and before long, Garnett went below the belt like he normally does and allegedly said that Anthony’s wife “tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios.” Now I’m not married but if...

Report: Celtics Willing to Trade Injured Rajon Rondo If They Can Find ‘Right Trade’

Rajon Rondo is out for the rest of the season with a knee injury, but apparently that won’t stop the Celtics from moving their point guard — if they can somehow find a deal they like. That probably won’t be easy, but ESPN’s Chris Broussard reports (via Twitter) that the Celtics would trade their injured point guard if they were able to find the “right trade.” What exactly...

Rondo's agent assured Rondo will not be traded

Agent for Rajon Rondo, Bill Duffy, tells USAT that Boston GM Danny Ainge assured him today the Celtics PG won't be traded. Story to come. — Sam Amick (@sam_amick) February 20, 2013 Another update in a crazy time before the trade deadline, this new information seems to be pretty plausible. Rondo is currently out with a season-ending injury, so his value would not be very high...

Is Kevin Garnett Heading to the Clippers?

As it often happens with trades in the NBA, it’s not so much about the actual players who might be traded as it is contingent on which player outside of the trade talk is staying or leaving a team. For instance, trade rumors are currently heating up regarding the Celtics Kevin Garnett going to the Clippers in exchange for Eric Bledsoe and DeAndre Jordan. However, this possible...

Boston Celtics Face Most Important Trade Deadline in Franchise History

With the NBA trade deadline knocking on the doorstep, the Boston Celtics have a ton of decisions to weigh in, which could essentially make this the toughest deadline in Celtics history. Currently, the Celtics sit in utter silence after storming rumors consisting of Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce this past week, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t talking trading places with players...

Celtics on verge of signing a guard to 10-day contract?

The Herald’s Mark Murphy offers this update on the Celtics need for a guard: The Celtics are reportedly on the verge of signing a guard to a 10-day contract — a hedge in case a more desirable player is available in another two weeks — though management was still sifting through possibilities. Shelvin Mack, the Maine Red Claws point guard, remained with his team on its road...
