PLAYERS: Kevin Garnett
TEAMS: Boston Celtics
Thousands of players have suited up in for an NBA team.  Only 11 have grabbed more rebounds than Kevin Garnett.  Last night, on Shaquille O'Neal's 40th birthday, KG passed him on the list and into 12th place All-Time. And afterwards, KG spoke about the joy of rebounding.  "I like nothing about it," Garnett said of rebounding, holding back a laugh. "I like nothing about it. It's something that I have to do. It's something that I'm decent at, and it's something that I know how to do. That's what it is." I love that quote.  Not because it's a typically KG thing to say.  But for what it stands for. Rebounding is dirty work.  Very few people LIKE to rebound.  You have be kind of cuckoo to get pounded in the trenches down low every freakin' night... with 250 pound guys pushing you and jabbing you and pulling you and doing unspeakable things that refs don't see and replays often miss.  That's not fun for a lot o...

Kevin Garnett says he likes ‘nothing about’ rebounding after setting milestone

During the Celtics 97-92 overtime win over the Rockets on Tuesday night, Kevin Garnett reached a rebounding milestone. After grabbing 13 boards, Garnett now has 13,100 career rebounds and has moved into 12th on the all-time list, passing Shaquille O’Neal. And he enjoyed all 13,100 of them, right? Wrong. “I like nothing about (rebounding),” Garnett said after the game according...

Looking for Leadership in All the Wrong Places

Ralph had the conch. Kevin Garnett swaps out the mollusks, opting instead for the scowl. At an allegorical level, both items — despite one being inherently more tangible than the other — serve as governing instruments, helping groupthink trump individuality with hopes of ultimate success. Said instruments also occasionally result in tears, be they from the ducts of Piggy or...

Comments from the other side - Sixers 3/7

Well, that wasn't fun. I don't think I've ever seen a team play with less energy than the Celtics did last night. It was funny how the Sixer fans were so down on their team before the game and then were pretty cocky at the end. Hopefully the Celtics will remember this one and it will be fuel to go on a tear. They will see the Sixers two more times and hopefully this...
