There are few traditions at Celtics games that seem to captivate fans more than "Gino Time." Apparently, the players aren't immune to catching Gino fever either. Since the 2008 season, every time the C's win a home game, a clip from the Disco-era music show American Bandstand gets played on the TD Garden Jumbotron. The video features a man dancing in a tight Gino Vannelli T-shirt. During the waning minutes of the Celtics' 103-79 win over the 76ers Sunday night, captain Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett were captured by the CSNNE cameras joining in on "Gino Time." Check it out...

Garnett helps Celtics hold off Heat in clutch: BOS 115 MIA 107

If I told you before the season that in a Celtics-Heat game: one team would shoot 60%, out-rebound their opponent 40-34, score their highest point total of the season and have one of their star players go 5-for-5 in the fourth quarter to hold off the opposition you would probably guess that team was the Heat. Nope, it was Boston. The "old Celtics" showed tonight that...

Kevin Garnett Keys Celtics' Second Unit With Shutdown Defense Against Sixers

BOSTON -- Kevin Garnett's job just got easier. For more than two-thirds of the season, Garnett carried the Celtics' second unit. The veteran big man -- don't call him a "center" within earshot -- anchored the team on both ends of the floor when his strict substitution pattern called for him to play extended minutes with the Celtics reserves. Since mid-February...

Video: Pierce & KG dance along with Gino

The Gino dance is everyone's favorite part of a Celtics blowout win at home.  But no one... NO ONE... loves it like Kevin Garnett.  I wish I loved anything like KG loves that video.  It seems like that video is like a hypnotist snapping his fingers and waking someone out of their sleep.  KG goes from "deranged lunatic" to "kid laughing at the circus"...

Celtics/Heat postgame videos

Paul Pierce interview after the jump.

Your Morning Dump... Where Doc had to keep KG on the floor

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. "His minutes were low, but he was going in that 12 minutes in a  row stretch which we try to avoid with him, " Rivers said. "But we had to keep him out on the floor...

Celtics Live Blog: Paul Pierce Leads C's Into Miami for Showdown With Heat

8 a.m.: The Heat are expected to be at full strength when the Celtics try to make it two wins in a row against the stars from South Beach on Tuesday. Dwyane Wade, who missed Sunday's game with a sore ankle, should be back in the lineup when the Heat do what they do best: play at home. The Heat (40-15) own the NBA's best home record at 24-3, so the Celtics (32-24) will need...

Kevin Garnett Again Dominates Chris Bosh, Boding Well for Celtics in Possible Playoff Matchup

As a symbol of what has made Kevin Garnett so great, there was no moment more instructive than one that came midway through the fourth quarter on Tuesday. Chris Bosh sealed off Garnett in the post, received a pass from Dwyane Wade and scored a simple layup. Garnett grabbed the ball out of the net and angrily bumped the ball against his head before inbounding it to Rajon Rondo, muttering...

Celtics Roll Past Indiana, 86-72

Follow me on Twitter @CLNS_Chris The Boston Celtics responded well after head coach Doc Rivers called out the team after losing to the Chicago Bulls on Thursday as Paul Pierce scored 24 points and the Boston Celtics paced themselves to an 86-72 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night. Ray Allen came off the [...]

Taking Stock: Celtics - Sixers

After every game, we'll take stock of how each individual performance affects the player's overall value. Starters  Rajon Rondo:  Another 15 assists.  And yes, he sometimes gets a little too casual out there.  I'll take the bad with the good as this guy continues to set up his teammates.  His assists led to 32 points, and he added another 7.  So he accounted...

GreenLights: Celtics vs Heat

The Celtics completed an offensive onslaught on South Beach against the Heat, defeating them for the second time in 10 days.  During this recent stretch of fantastic performances, the C's have been locking down their opponents with exceptional defense.  Last night however, they executed against one of the better defensive teams in the NBA, as well as the toughest home team...

Boston Celtics’ historical-level defense, new starting lineup spearheading recent run

It’s become an annual rite of passage to discount the Boston Celtics’ playoff chances. The snow turns to rain, SportsCenter begins running baseball highlights (which sucks for us hoop heads) and NBA analysts write off the Celtics, who have limped into the playoffs the last two seasons like Tonya Harding’s goons took a crowbar to their collective kneecap. This season, it didn’t...
