5TH QUARTER MAGAZINE:
Paul Pierce is one of the greatest players to ever put on a Boston Celtics uniform. He may not be as legendary as greats like Larry Bird or Bill Russell, but he did win an NBA championship and has been with the team since he got into the league in 98′. Despite his success, Pierce has had some low moments as well ,and by low I meaning falling on the ground cause you just got crossed over.
Yesterday when guarding Joe Johnson, Pierce took a gamble by reaching for the ball, and his ankles paid for it in tenfold. Those poor ankles, this was the second time they have been put on ankle-support from a opposing player. Last year, Jameer Nelson hit Pierce with an ankle detonating step-back move that would become a YouTube classic. Peep the evidence below and let us know on a scale of 1-10 how bad this crossover was.
BEST OF MAXIM
Paul Pierce hasn't had the best of weeks. It took overtime for the Celtics to beat the Magic and then they got embarrassed by the Nets. Pierce has looked his age in the past couple of games, especially on defense. First, there was Jameer Nelson
And then there was Joe Johnson
Here's hoping the Captain gets his mojo back. This is getting painful to watch.
Good gracious, Paul Pierce.
Earlier this week, you almost lost a leg trying to guard Jameer Nelson. And then last night, Joe Johnson lulled you to sleep with his dribble before dropping you to your knees.
Again, gotta move those feet, Paul.
The post Joe Johnson hit Paul Pierce with a crossover that sent Pierce to his knees first appeared on No Guts, No Glory.
Tweet A couple of days ago Paul Pierce’s legs buckled under him courtesy of Orlando Magic point guard Jameer Nelson. Tonight against the Brooklyn Nets the result wasn’t quite as bad, but Pierce once again found himself on floor. This time it was Joe Johnson channeling his inner Jamal Crawford with a super low [...]
Brooklyn Nets guard Joe Johnson broke out a wicked crossover move that nearly brought Boston Celtics forward Paul Pierce to the floor during the fourth quarter of Wednesday night's NBA game at the TD Bank Center. Johnson led the Nets with 18 points to help carry them to a 95-83 victory. Video via. H/T Cosby. Visit us at http://holdoutsports.com and Follow @HoldoutSports...
We often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics. Here’s a look at some enemy chatter from Milwaukee.
Daniels played tough defense all night on Paul Pierce all game and gave the Bucks god versatility against the Pierce/Terry pick and roll late. He offers preciously little on the other end, but he knows his limitations...
Brooklyn Nets guard Joe Johnson is the latest guy to make Paul Pierce look dumb on the court. The Nets played the Celtics last night and took care of them pretty easily with a 95-83 win. Johnson seemed to take care of Paul Pierce pretty easily too. He dropped 18 points and had this dirty crossover that put Pierce on the ground crawling on his hands and knees. Check the video...
Do you like Allen Iverson? If so, you’re going to love this series of moves from Joe Johnson. Though he didn’t employ the type of body movement that Iverson so often did when executing basketball’s most famous killer crossover, Johnson did resort to his own air-tight, lighting-quick dribbling skills to elude Paul Pierce with an Answer-esque now-you-see-it-now-you-dont act...
I’ll admit it. I really thought the Celtics were going to run away with this game.It was foolish, I know. I mean, why would I think that this team could hold a 17-0 lead? Stupid, stupid. I should have known that Milwaukee would come back, because, you know, the Celtics. The only question would be whether or not Boston could hold off Milwaukee’s comeback. They could not, as it...
Anytime I log on to Twitter, it’s not long until ” #TeamCeltics ” comes across my timeline. That’s because I follow a young die-hard from NYC who goes by the Twitter handle @NyPDCeltics_34. His real name is Richard F. Richard is a 17 year old student from Brooklyn, NY who reps the Boston Celtics to the fullest. And as you can imagine, being a Boston Celtics fan in NYC is...

After every game, we’ll take stock of how each individual performance affects the player’s overall value.
Offense: Defense: Overall:
Rondo was having a so-so game until the “fight”. But that has the potential to be a very damaging reaction from Rondo. If the league drops the hammer because things spilled into the stands, then the...
February 22nd, 2012 – The Boston Celtics lose to the Oklahoma City Thunder 119-104 dropping their record to 15-17. Even the most ardent members of Celtics Nation declare the “window” shut for the team. The break-up of the Big Three seems inevitable as Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and maybe even Rajon Rondo and Kevin Garnett [...]
The Celtics barely missed Rondo as they routed the Trailblazers 96-78. Strong performances by Jeff Green, Jason Terry, Courtney Lee, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett gave Celtics fans hope that they can play without their floor general. Jared Weiss of CLNS Radio recaps the game in tonight’s edition of “Three at the Buzzer”. Filmed and [...]
