I was a fan of the Richard Hamilton signing in Chicago.  And his stint in Chicago has gone well enough...

... when he's played.

Rip has played in only 11 of Chicago's 23 games.  And he's going to miss quite a few more.

Hamilton admitted that he likely will sit for a while in an attempt to put the groin and right thigh bruise issues in his rearview mirror for good.

"It's frustrating, but I have to get healthy," Hamilton said.

[...] "I feel like I'm playing on one leg sometimes," Hamilton said after that game.

Chicago is fine without him, provided Luol Deng comes back and plays through the pain of a torn wrist ligament.

Hamilton's overall field goal percentage is at its highest point since 2007-08.  You have to go back to 08-09 to find a higher effective field goal percentage.  His PER and True Shooting Percentage is down a little, though.  So there's a little up-and-down with him, but Chicago already knew that.

Still, his presence helps.  He's on some of the Bulls most effective 5-man units.  So the Bulls are going to shut him down for a bit now and hope he can be ready for the playoffs.  That's when the Bulls will really need an effective shooter on the floor the most.  If he can get both legs back, he makes the Bull even more dangerous.
