As expected, Shavlik Randolph has become a victim of the numbers game. Shavlik Randolph told ESPN the Boston Celtics have informed him they are not picking up his option. — Jeff Goodman (@GoodmanESPN) August 1, 2013 This is the ****** business side of things, folks.  Shavlik Randolph played well in his role and is a very hard worker that could prove to be a solid, cheap contributor.  Meanwhile, the Celtics have 24 shooting guards right now, but because Jordan Crawford has a guaranteed $2.1 million, an erratic, volume scorer get will get to stay (for now). The Celtics did add size they didn’t have last years, which also made Randolph a little more expendable.  Kelly Olynyk will get those minutes, as will a healthy Jared Sullinger.  Vitor Faverani will probably get a shot too. It’s possible he’ll get a camp invite if other teams pass on him.  I think he’s done enough with his chance in Boston to get a look somewhere in the NBA when camp rolls around.
