Found January 14, 2013 on Celtics Life:
The Celtics are 5-1 since Avery Bradley returned to the lineup on January 2nd.  Dating back to the beginning of last season they are 31-13 when he starts, and 38-40 when he doesn't (including the playoffs).  Before Bradley came back Boston was allowing an average of 98.1 points per game.  In the 6 games he's played they are giving up just 85.8 PPG.  There is no doubt his presence on the floor has had a dramatic impact.  So what I'm wondering is, why isn't Bradley on the court more?  He's averaging just 23.2 minutes per game so far, and often sitting in crunch time in favor of Jason Terry or Courtney Lee.  I posed this question on twitter to MetroWest Daily News beat reporter Scott Souza, who had this in response: @lucidsportsfan Doc did say in past week "by the playoffs" he hopes Avery Bradley is getting fourth quarter minutes. Won't take that long. — Scott Souza (@scott_souza) January 13, 2013 Souza gave me this quote from Doc Rivers in referenc...

Avery Bradley, Jared Sullinger, and the Celtics winning streak

Remember when the Celtics were on a four game losing streak at the start of the new year, losing three of four by more than fifteen points? And when Avery Bradley’s return against Memphis meant little to the final score? Me neither. The Celtics have rattled off 6 straight wins, and they are 6-1 with Avery Bradley back in the starting lineup. They started the streak with a manhandling...

Kevin Garnett: The most well rounded player in NBA history

Kevin Garnett is on the precipice on joining a very exclusive club. A club so exclusive in fact, that when he joins it, he will be it's only member. With 32 more assists, Garnett will pass Sleepy Floyd for 50th on the NBA's all-time assist leader board (5,144). This is important, because Garnett already ranks in the top 50 in rebounds (12th - 13,566), points (17th - 24...

Celtics Back on Track with 5 Game Winning Streak

The Boston Celtics are soaring back up through the NBA rankings after a five game winning streak that can be described as nothing short of “Simply Amazing”. A week ago things were not looking good for our Celtics squad. They returned beat up from a bruising west coast road trip. They lost games they easily could have won!Their defense was lagging. Those following the team were...

The time KG chucked a table in the locker room

The Globe’s Gary Washburn has a great nugget about Kevin Garnett, courtesy Charlotte coach Mike Dunlap. Dunlap then relayed a story he said he was told by a Raptors clubhouse attendant. “He said, ‘Well one time Boston came up in here and lost and Garnett chucked a table in the locker room postgame,’ ” Dunlap said. “That’s kind of what I’m trying to promote with Jeff...

Courtney Lee Turns Effort Into Offense as Celtics Stretch Win Streak to Season-Long Six Games

BOSTON — Courtney Lee saw Hakim Warrick running out in front of the pack, with nothing but open court between the Bobcats forward and the hoop, and thought to himself: I’m faster than this guy. Just as Warrick went up for a would-be dunk, Lee, as he has many times this season for the Celtics, sprinted in and slapped the ball away. It was not a game-changing play in itself, since...

Taking Stock: Celtics – Bobcats

After every game, we’ll take stock of how each individual performance affects the player’s overall value. Starters Offense:     Defense:      Overall:  He was 4-4 from 16-23 feet, and despite down-shifting into 3rd gear after starting the game going all out in 5th gear, he still came up with the big play when needed.  Offense:        Defense:...

Good enough: Boston Celtics beat Charlotte Bobcats 100-89

The Celtics don’t blow bad teams away.We know this by now. It has been the case since 2008 when the Hawks inexplicably took the Celtics to seven games in the first round of the playoffs. For whatever reason, whether it be motivation or something else, Boston just doesn’t blow out very many teams. Instead, they grind things out, lose a few games that they shouldn’t lose, and...

Beantown Beatdown

Here we see MKG and Rondo in a push-up contest.  MKG was the winner, completing 103 push-ups. Recently the Bobcats effort has been...lacking to say the least. But have no fear!  Up until this point, the Cats are 1-0 when I write the recap.  You're welcome guys. Would the Bobcats come out of the Garden with a W? Keep reading to find out...   ...
