Miami Heat guard Ray Allen checked into Tuesday night's game against his former team the Boston Celtics and received a nice hug from Celtics coach Doc Rivers.  But he didn't receive the same warm welcome from former teammate Kevin Garnett.  Watch below. Garnett said after Allen left the Celtics for the Heat that he lost his number. Garnett and Allen played five season together and won a championship.  Garnett made it clear he's not angry with Allen joining the Heat just disappointed with his decision. "I'm just being honest," Garnett said. "It's not that I wish him (Allen) less than or whatever; it is what it is."

Video: Kevin Garnett gives Ray Allen the cold shoulder

Some might not like it. Some might love it. I love it.

Rondo to Wade "I didn't have any dirty plays like he's had in the past."

Rondo on Wade: "I didn't have any dirty plays like he's had in the past."— Ben Rohrbach (@brohrbach) November 1, 2012 Doc Rivers basically said the same thing earlier today, pointing to when Wade threw Rondo down with this - injuring his elbow and forcing him to play on one arm. I used this video courtesy dru from the comments in the last video but I'm going...

Kevin Garnett ignores Ray Allen’s greeting, remains KG

Things aren’t going especially well right now, so here’s some distraction for you. When Ray Allen checked in for the Celtics, he walked by the Boston bench, high-fiving and hugging ex-coaches and teammates. Predictably when he got to KG, his greeting was pretty much ignored. But the best part was KG’s expression as Ray Allen walked away. Observe:If looks could kill, Miami would...

KG is the fireman that will put out the Heat

Came across this great picture this morning on Anta’s official Weibo page. The artist has drawn KG as a fireman, with “Beat Heat” in the background. Notice the Anta “KG3″ on his feet.  Absolutely fantastic.. We’re 6 hours away from tip-off and Doc Rivers tells Celtics.com that the Heat’s ring ceremony “is what it is“. It’s clear that this team is focused and...

Celtics Kevin Garnett ignores Ray Allen shoulder tap (Video)

During the NBA off-season, Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett stated that he lost former teammate Ray Allen's phone number after he signed with the Miami Heat. As you would figure, Ray attempted to bury the hatchet by going up to KG while he was sitting on the Celtics bench.Watch as Ray gives him a love tap that doesn't get recognized by Kevin:

Rondo a punk? Doc Rivers points to Wade injuring Rondo's elbow in response

Doc on Wade's "punk play" comment: "Don't forget about Rondo's elbow injury (in 2011 playoffs)…that was created by Dwyane Wade."— Boston Celtics (@celtics) November 1, 2012 Yeah, cause Dwyane Wade has never done a punk move in his life. Seriously, I'm sick of Wade already. I never hated him before the Heat got LeBron and Bosh but since then...

Kevin Garnett Explains Cold Shoulder He Gave Ray Allen, Admits He's an 'Intense Person'

Ray Allen downplayed Kevin Garnett's cold shoulder on Tuesday night, saying, "That's just KG." Well, KG's explanation was KG-esque. Garnett, who completely ignored Allen's attempt to exchange some pleasantries upon checking into Tuesday's game, said he was just focused on the task at hand. Then again, the jersey Allen was wearing had...

Celtics/Heat post game videos

Doc Rivers and Paul Pierce speak after Tuesday night's loss.

Kevin Garnett ignored Ray Allen tonight (GIF)

So Ray Allen skipped town (Boston) after the Celtics couldn’t get passed the Heat in last year’s Eastern Conference Finals.  Mr. Jesus Shuttlesworth followed the old theory that “if you can’t beat them, join them” and signed with Miami this offseason.  When the Celts and Heat squared off in the NBA opener tonight, Celtics forward Kevin Garnett showed Allen just how happy...

Celtic fans the best when it comes to showing loyalty and support

Who can forget last year's Eastern Conference Finals Game 6 memorable show of class and support for the lads in green by the green-teamers. Doc had already pulled the 'Big Three' and the third-string unit was still playing disciplined basketball in spite of the circumstances. You can see the emotional affect it had on the whole team.  Kevin Garnett cited it as The...

Leandro Barbosa Shines, LeBron James Gets His Ring and Other Impressions From Loss to Heat

The Celtics have some problems, as their opening night loss to the Miami Heat made clear. One of those problems involves having far more quality guards than Doc Rivers can fit in his rotation, although that is the problem the coach is least likely to complain about. A quiet bench was due to join the listless defense and directionless offense as culprits in Boston...

Dwyane Wade said some really nice things about the Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics hold plenty of respect for the Miami Heat, maybe even to the point of being obsessed. The Celtics talk about their Eastern Conference rival every day. Doc Rivers ended open practice on Sunday by starting a “Beat the Heat” chant. When Courtney Lee and Jason Terry arrived at the team’s practice facilities in Waltham, they were surprised to see tape of last...

Takeaways from Celtics-Heat

Last night's game was disappointing to say the least, and while there were some troubling signs, the Celtics did show the potential to be a contending force. The Good: Health: Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce both looked healthy. KG didn't score much, but he appeared much more fit than he did at last year's opening. The Big Ticket had 2 blocks and 12 rebounds along with...
