Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. It’s quite possible the Celtics’ post-Rajon Rondo team won’t get completely healthy before the playoffs. After Courtney Lee said he would miss at least Saturday night’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies because of a sprained left ankle, Kevin Garnett also was declared out, also with a sprained left ankle. Garnett will be examined further when the team returns to Boston on Sunday. Coach Doc Rivers was unsure when Garnett sustained the injury. Garnett missed two games because of a strained left adductor muscle and the flu, but returned for two games, combining for 36 points and 18 rebounds, playing 29 minutes in both. “The first I heard of it was [Friday] night,” Rivers said. “I don’t know if he hurt it in the game [Friday] night or a couple of games [ago]. I have no idea. “Whenever somebody does anything with

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “An initial sprain is always the biggest zing right there when it happens,” Lee said after the Celtics’ 104-94 loss to Dallas. “But hopefully it’s just swelled up a little bit. “I’ll get some medicine...

An MRI on Kevin Garnett’s left foot showed swelling in his ankle, and he is officially listed as doubtful for Tuesday’s game against the Knicks. Rivers told the Boston Globe, “Whatever [management...

Celtics Not Compassionate After Courtney Lee Injures Ankle

Celtics’ Doc Rivers and Jason Terry were less than compassionate Friday night when Courtney Lee was carried off the floor by teammates after spraining his ankle. Boston was in the midst of a comeback against Dallas, down just five with under two minutes remaining in the game when Lee went down with an ankle injury on a possession that left O.J. Mayo wide open for a three-pointer...

Kevin Garnett Needs Help From Celtics Teammates to Defend Aggressive Pick-and-Roll Opponents

The Celtics’ scrambling was admirable, if not exactly effective, as they dashed around the court trying to match up with Mavericks players on defense. They were getting picked apart in a performance reminiscent of Tiago Splitter‘s breakout game at TD Garden earlier this season, but at least they were making a good show of it. Then Vince Carter hopped in the Way Back Machine —...

Bob Cousy, #14 After spending the past two weeks in the #9 position, a four game losing streak has dropped the Celtics five spots, all the way down to #14 in Marc Stein's NBA power rankings for ESPN.  With the news just out that Kevin Garnett will likely miss some time (Doc said 4-5 games wouldn't surprise him), Stein probably wishes he had Boston even lower. At 36-33...
