Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. Among the free agents remaining on the market is former Celtic Mickael Pietrus, who does not want to play for the league minimum. The Bucks had expressed interest in Pietrus but he remains without a team. The Celtics still have their $1.95 million biannual exception remaining but are expected to wait until close to the regular season to use that, perhaps on a player waived by another team Boston Globe Welcome to the new Collective Bargaining Agreement.  The money has dried up for guys like Pietrus.  Teams aren’t willing to pay him more than the minimum (about $1.3 million) and the Celtics aren’t going to offer him the bi-annual… so he’s off to field offers from other teams. He’s already talked to Milwaukee and Minnesota has some interest… but we’re getting to a point where I think Pietrus might just be better off fina...

Why Bringing Keyon Dooling Back Was a Good Move

One of the reserves that Danny brought back from last season was Keyon Dooling. And, bringing Keyon back wasn't a last second decision because Danny told the rookies at the draft that #51 wasn't available when they were picking their numbers. Keyon had some good moments on the court last season, especially after Avery was injured but his stats don't exactly jump off...

CLNS Radio Do We Have a Chinese Sneaker Company to Thank for the Return of Kevin Garnett? Kevin Garnett leaves behind his contract with Adidas to sign with Anta, a Chinese company. Auerbachian - Good or Lucky?

A couple of times since 2007, I've seen Danny Ainge's moves described as Auerbachian. He was able to amass the chips needed to trade for 2 future Hall of Famers and after that to build a bench capable of winning a championship. This season he was able to sign Jason Terry with the MLE and then make a trade for Courtney Lee in a manner that Sherrod Blakely called unprecedented...

Grading the Boston Celtics Off-Season

Despite the Boston Celtics being reamed in the media as an “old” team, they took on what would be the 2012 NBA champs in the Eastern Conference Finals — let’s be clear, no one was beating LeBron James last year — and some believed Kevin Garnett would leave for greener pastures, but the fact [...]

Hall of Fame Travesty - Johnny Most

After I posted my thoughts on the travesty that Jo Jo White isn't in the Hall of Fame, Nick from CLNS Radio mentioned to me that Johnny Most isn't in the Hall either. I'm not sure which is worse but both are unacceptable. Lee of Celtic Nation mentioned that maybe there is a bias against the Celtics since so many Celtics are already enshrined in the Hall and so they...

Hall of Fame Travesty - Jo Jo White

With the Hall of Fame inductions in the news this week, it's time to mention what might be the biggest snub in all of history. The Hall finally righted the wrong that had been done to Dennis Johnson, although too late for him to enjoy it. Now, it's time to call attention to an even bigger travesty. Jo Jo White is not in the Hall of Fame. The case for White to be inducted...

The Celtics guard was somewhat skeptical about the new lineup of another rival team, the L.A. Lakers, who now feature stars Dwight Howard and Steve Nash alongside Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol. Rondo said they’ve...
