Tweet Marcell Dareus, a defensive tackle for who plays for the Buffalo Bills, was reportedly arrested Monday evening in Alabama for drug charges, per ESPN. A jailer for Cleburne County in Heflin who would not give her name says Dareus was arrested Monday night by a state trooper and was released from the jail within an hour. She says he was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She did not have an attorney for him listed or a court date. Sheriff Joe Jacks also confirmed to WVUA-TV that Dareus was arrested. Dareus originally was stopped for speeding, and the controlled substance charge is a felony, according to the Tuscaloosa News. From the looks of the things and the fact that Dareus was released within an hour, the charges may not be serious. Nonetheless, any time a professional athlete makes headlines for any type of legal trouble, especially of the felony drug variety, it isn’t a good look. Buffalo selected Dareus third overall out of Alabama in 2011. The mammoth defensive lineman registered 71 tackles and 7.5 sacks last season and was named to the Pro Bowl following the 2013 season. -ALR
