Cowboys could trade Doug Free to Saints to nab Cooper

It’s no secret that the Dallas Cowboys have fallen out of love with Doug Free. He was once the golden boy back in 2011 playing at left tackle, but as soon as Tyron Smith was moved to the left side in 2012. Free quickly regressed to the point that the Cowboys are looking to do whatever it takes to get him off the team fast. Cutting Free would save the Cowboys zero dollars to the...

Dez Bryant says Tyrann Mathieu is the best player in the draft

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant told the Twitter world today that he believes LSU cornerback Tyrann Mathieu is the best player in this year’s NFL draft. A lot of great players in this draft but @mathieu_era is the best player in the draft.. You can say whatever you want about him #gamechanger — Dez Bryant (@DezBryant) April 25, 2013 While I really like Mathieu, he...

And With the No. 18 in the NFL Draft the Dallas Cowboys Take…

And With the No. 18 in the NFL Draft the Dallas Cowboys Take…: Starting Thursday night at 8 PM ET the fate of NFL teams all over the league is going to change—if they can pick the right player. Plenty of first round picks have crashed and burned often taking with them the hopes of the franchise for a year or two. Mom and Dad must be so proud. The Dallas Cowboys...

Jerry Jones says Cowboys defense in 'good shape'

If "good shape" means scary thin, we'll let Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Joens pass one this one. Plus, it's draft time, so you know Jerry going to put his poker face on, reports Tom Osborn of mysanantonio.com. As draft day approaches, Jones wants to downplay the state of the team's defense, saying "the good news is we really are in good shape over on the...

Cowboys more likely to trade down than up

Jerry Jones says the Cowboys are more likely to trade down than attempt to trade up on draft day. Which means you can look for them to move up. Every year, Jones calls a pre-draft press conference. The media dutifully shows up, just in case he addresses other topics besides the draft. As far as the draft itself, anything Jones and the Cowboys says prior to draft day is usually...

Cowboys rumors: Dallas could trade down in draft

The Dallas Cowboys traded up in last year’s NFL Draft in order to acquire cornerback Morris Claiborne. This year, the team isn’t interested in moving up in the draft, as owner/general manager Jerry Jones told reporters – including Jon Machota of The Dallas News – that trading down is a “realistic possibility.” “There’s enough depth in this draft that you sure want...

Most Obscure Player of 1978: Larry Brinson

The 1978 Dallas Cowboys featured several running backs that many (with memories of the 1970s) would remember. This list includes not only Tony Dorsett and Robert Newhouse, but also Scott Laidlaw, Preston Pearson, and Doug Dennison. The team did not have great candidates for the Most Obscure Player Award, so we’re going with one of the lesser-known running backs. Option #1 was Alois...

Cowboys could keep up draft trend of moving around

The Dallas Cowboys are sending signals that they might trade down in the draft Thursday night. If so, they would do well to remember their disastrous ''specials team'' draft of 2009, the last time Dallas focused on stockpiling picks. Not one player remains from the class with the ill-fated label from owner Jerry Jones, who didn't have a first-round pick and...

Dallas WR Dez Bryant calls Tyrann Mathieu ‘the best player in the draft’

At least one person sees Tyrann Mathieu as the very best player in the entire 2013 NFL Draft, and that's Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant.

Jerry Jones Gets His Game

There is nothing more than Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones wants than to see a championship game in Cowboys Stadium. It looks like he will finally have it to, and not because he paid Tony Romo a boat load of cash or made the most brilliant draft day trade in the history of the NFL or anything. In fact, it has nothing to do with the Dallas Cowboys at all. It's the new college...

College football playoff championship | Jerry Jones, Cowboys Stadium putting Arlington and DFW at the center of the sports map

A Major Attraction When Jerry Jones was touring the Metroplex to determine where to locate the new Cowboys Stadium, which would replace the iconic Texas Stadium in Irving, he made city officials promises that he would build the biggest and the best stadium in the world and it would attract world class events. He didn’t lie. It was announced yesterday that the first ever college...

Draft Diary Of An NFL Superfan: Four Days Of The 2013 NFL Draft

Day 1: Predraft For someone who loves football as much as I do I ‘m ashamed to admit that I’ve never been to a Super Bowl, the Pro Football Hall of Fame or the NFL Draft. Sure, I’ve followed my beloved Dallas Cowboys across the nation with varying degrees of success and spend most of my fall weekends in my basement basking in the glow of glorious football. Since I’m not getting...
