Houston Texans (2-0) at Baltimore Ravens (1-1) The Ravens have been one of the premier home teams in the NFL over the past few seasons, going 24-3 at home since 2010. As a result, they’ve only been underdogs at home a grand total of twice in that time frame, losing once at home to Peyton Manning and the Broncos last season and then winning once at home as dogs last year against the Giants, after they had previously lost 3 straight. Given that, I don’t think the Texans deserve to be favored in Baltimore. The Texans have not played well thus far this year, barely beating both Tennessee and San Diego. They won 12 games last year, but were not nearly as good as that would have suggested. Their Pythagorean Expectation was that of a 10 win team as they went 5-0 in games decided by a touchdown or less. They also faced a very easy schedule, recovered an unsustainable high percentage of fumbles that hit the ground, and played their worst football down the stretch, which might have carried ov...

Denver Broncos: 2013 Week 3 NFL Power Rankings (#3)

Last week: 4 Ryan Clady being out for the season hurts, but remember who they have under center. No quarterback protects their own blindside better than Peyton Manning. He thrived with a group of nobodies at left tackle in Indianapolis and he’ll be fine without Clady in Denver. They should still cruise through a very weak (at least at the top) AFC. His absence will be a bigger...

Hayden to get tested by Manning

Oakland rookie cornerback D.J. Hayden has never played against Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning. He figures the two will become well-acquainted Monday night in Denver. Hayden is the youngest and least experienced member of the Raiders' defensive secondary, and that has made him a target for opposing quarterbacks. Indianapolis' Andrew Luck sought him out repeatedly in...

Peyton Manning Will Attend Friend Todd Helton’s Last Home Game When Rockies Take on Red Sox

Peyton Manning is submitting his name for BFF of the Year. The Denver Broncos signal caller will be preparing for a Monday night matchup against the Raiders next week, but he’s taking some time out to support one of his good friends. Rockies first baseman Todd Helton announced in September that he would be retiring from Major League Baseball after 17 years with the team, and his...

Manning thanks Helton for two big assists

Peyton Manning plans to catch Todd Helton's final home game for the Colorado Rockies next week so he can pay homage to his college buddy who gave him two big assists over the years. The first came when Manning was a homesick freshman at the University of Tennessee in 1994 and Helton, already a star in both football and baseball, took him under his wing and helped him adjust...

Brady, Manning and Peterson Weren’t Great In Their First Two Games Back Either

Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and Adrian Peterson had different injuries than Robert Griffin III, and they were on different timelines and in different situations, etc. They’re different players, and, like all people everywhere, each is a precious snowflake. Also, two games is a small sample size, I know, but that’s what we have to work with when analyzing post-devastation RGIII...

Clark to fill in for Clady as Manning's protector

The Denver Broncos' excitement over their scorching start is tempered by a serious injury to All-Pro left tackle Ryan Clady and the specter of being without Peyton Manning's protector on the blindside for a lengthy time. Clady might miss the rest of the season or at least a good chunk of it with a sprained left foot. While the team hasn't specified the exact nature...

Report: Ryan Clady to Miss Rest of 2013 Season, Leaving Peyton Manning, Broncos Without All-Pro Tackle

Peyton Manning‘s blindside just become much more vulnerable. Broncos left tackle Ryan Clady, who was diagnosed with a Lisfranc sprain in his left foot after Sunday’s game, will be placed on injured reserve and miss the remainder of the 2013 season, according to NFL.com. Clady, 28, is a two-time first-team All Pro, making his absence a huge loss for Manning and the Broncos. He...

Denver Broncos Individual Grades on Offense Vs. NY Giants

Denver Broncos vs. NY Giants Individual Grades:Offense  Peyton Manning: A+30-42 302 Yards 2 TDThe usual godly performance that leaves defenses looking dumbfounded. Made his brother look like a Tim Couch in comparison with his play during Manning Bowl III. Moved the ball at will and continued to look ten years younger in form. MVP frontrunner he remains without question. Comments...
