It's not too often a team dominates another team with such a one-sided streak. But that is exactly what the Baltimore Ravens have over the Cleveland Browns. Baltimore has beaten Cleveland 11 straight times, and though this game was a fairly close battle for the duration, Baltimore came away with the win again. The Hero of the Game belongs to the Baltimore Ravens defense as a unit. Playing without a few starters on defense, including their leader and perennial All-Pro middle-linebacker Ray Lewis; the Ravens defense managed to keep the Browns offense at bay all afternoon in Cleveland. In fact, Baltimore kept the Browns offense out of the end zone all afternoon; relegating Cleveland to kicking field goals instead of scoring touchdowns. The Baltimore defense picked off Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden twice, and generally made life tough for the Browns offense. The Ravens defense did give up over a 100 yards rushing to Browns beastly rookie running back Trent Richardson, but when push came to shove the Ravens defense held their ground and kept the Cleveland out of the end zone. The Zero of the Game is given to the Cleveland Browns offense. They just did not get it done on Sunday. In the NFL, if you have to settle for field goals instead of touchdowns; you will more often than naught be settling for losses. With a rookie running back in Trent Richardson, and a rookie quarterback in Brandon Weeden; Cleveland will definitely be learning on the go this season. Though you can't fault any one player in particular, the bottom line is that the Browns just did not do enough on offense to get the job done.Weeden's numbers were modest-20/37 with a 176 yards passing, no touchdown; and two interceptions. The killer play of the day, that really was a punch in the gut for the struggling Browns offense was when they were called for an illegal formation penalty in the red zone that wiped away an 18 yard scoring strike from Weeden to rookie wide receiver Josh Gordon.Cleveland is not good enough yet to overcome mistakes like the illegal formation penalty. Had that touchdown to Gordon stood, Cleveland would have been in prime position to sneak out of there with a win on Sunday.Things will get better in Cleveland soon, it seems as though they have nice pieces that are coming together, it just can't come soon enough for long suffering Browns fans.
