Following their Thursday
night loss to the Tennessee Titans, the Pittsburgh Steelers received a bit of
good news yesterday regarding running back Rashard Mendenhall. While he
sustained an Achilles injury against the Titans, it is reportedly a minor
injury and he could be available for the club’s next game, according to Dan Hanzus of NFL.com.
NFL.com and NFL Network's Ian
Rapoport reported that Mendenhall's Achilles injury is minor, according to a person
who has spoken with the player.
Mendenhall was one of several
Steelers’ players that exited Thursday’s game due to injury. It’s not yet determined
if his current Achilles injury has anything to do with his quick return from
major knee surgery. According to Hanzus, this determination will factor into
how the Steelers handle Mendenhall.
