New York Sports-Kings:
It was a sight to see yesterday in Orchard Park, New York. “Super” Mario Williams broke a franchise and person record yesterday against the Carolina Panthers, when no one could stop him getting to Cam Newton. Williams had 4.5 sacks on the Panther QB.
No Bills player has had four sacks in a game since Bruce Smith shredded the offensive line of the Houston Oilers back in 1994, 19 years ago.
In a post game interview Williams spoke on his physical and mental strength.
“Physically, I feel great and mentally I’m better than ever. I’m just going out there and playing ball, staying calm. I’m probably one of the calmest persons you’ll ever meet. I just go out there and try to make it happen.”
This is great news for the Bills fan base, considering the injuries last season and even this preseason to the near $100 million defensive end.
Williams’ feat obviously did not go unnoticed with emotional head coach Doug Marrone.
“I saw power in rushing that passer. He was around. I told him afterwards, ‘Hey don’t dance with this guy early let’s go and close the distance, make a move and go.’ I thought he did a very good job of that.”
Super Mario’s only problem, stemming back to his days with the Houston Texans, is consistency. Can Williams get multiple sacks in a game every week? That’s something to keep an eye on.

The Buffalo Bills won in riveting fashion over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday thanks to a last minute touchdown pass from rookie quarterback EJ Manuel to Steve Johnson. The score essentially gave the Bills a 24-23 lead with just six seconds to go in the game. However, the person responsible for the Bills Twitter account didn't see things that way. They mistakenly sent out...
The Buffalo Bills escaped Ralph Wilson Stadium with a thrilling 24-23 over the Carolina Panthers and now sit tied for second place in the AFC East at 1-1. The Carolina Panthers meanwhile drop to 0-2 in the NFC South. With less than two minutes left and the ball in Buffalo territory, the Panthers might have thought they had this game in the bag. But a decision to kick a field goal...
The city of Buffalo is excited at the prospect of having a new quarterback to prop up on their collective shoulders as the man to take them to the promised land. Its been a long time since the Jim Kelly era, and not too long ago that Ryan Fitzpatrick was the assumed second coming. Now we have rookie EJ Manuel, who pulled a mini miracle on Sunday if you ask some fans.
BY NICK ST. DENISThe Buffalo Bills finally got the game they were paying Mario Williams all that money for.Williams, the Bills' $100 million defender, tallied a team-record 4.5 sacks in Buffalo's 24-23 victory over the Carolina Panthers. Buffalo's defense got in third-down situations where it was able to pin its ears back, and Williams capitalized.“I think that when...
E.J. Manuel is continuing to show folks that the Bills were correct in making him the first quarterback selected in the 2013 NFL Draft.
Manuel had a solid game against the Panthers, and led the Bills on an 80 yard drive with 1:36 left in the game. Manuel capped his day off by throwing the game winning touchdown to Stevie Johnson.
Manuel was so overwhelmed, he cried tears of joy.
The Buffalo Bills rebounded from a heartbreaking loss to the New England Patriots with a comeback of their own against the Carolina Panthers.
With 1:38 remaining in the game, the Buffalo Bills found themselves losing 23-17. It was E.J. Manuel’s first chance to win a game in a two-minute offense and he didn’t disappoint. The drive started with a completion to Stevie Johnson for...
Bills running back Fred Jackson wasn't anything special Sunday versus Carolina.Fantasy Spin:The Panthers held Jackson to just 30 yards on 12 carries. Buffalo's running back workload has been a 60/40 split through the first two games.
He was brought with hopes of being the man of the future, but was not expected to be the man of right now. However, an injury ended the season for the expected starter, veteran quarterback Kevin Kolb and necessity dictated that the time become now.
And after two games it appears like the Age of E.J. Manuel may have arrived!
He nearly led the team to...
Plantar fasciitis will keep All-Pro free safety Jairus Byrd out for a second straight week.Fantasy Spin:The Bills were gashed for 288 passing yards in Week 1 and it could be the same deal Sunday versus Cam Newton. No timetable has been given for Byrd's return.
BY DAN BEGNOCHEThe Buffalo Bills have asked a lot of rookie E.J. Manuel in his very brief NFL career. The thing is, it doesn't seem like it's phasing the 23-year-old much at all.A week after avoiding any turnovers and nearly eeking out a victory against last year's divisional champs, Manuel orchestrated an 80-yard, game-winning drive with less than two minutes to go in...
Whoa. I just woke up from a 4-hour nap, still slightly buzzed, and I don't have any idea where my glasses are. I think I may have lost them in the fracas of the Bills stunning win. I also happened to win Bills/Ravens tickets somehow while going to McFaddens to #supportsally. Seriously, life is good right about now.
As for today's game, there was some sort of peaceful...
The Carolina Panthers are 0-2 and off to another slow start, but there is no reason to ask for Ron Rivera’s head on a silver platter. As the title of the article suggests, firing Rivera at the end of 2013 would be a huge mistake that the Panthers should avoid making. Ron Rivera was brought in during the 2011 off-season and took over a 2-14 team that had the first overall pick which...
Ever since Cam Newton has taken over for the Panthers they have had bad starts to the season. They normally pick it up toward the end of the season, but by then it is too late.
This year it hasn’t been any different and Steve Smith has a theory on it.
“What the current issue is, you have a young player pressing,” Smith said. “And what do I mean by pressing? You know when...
Time to take a look at players that we should look to be moving and players that we should be trying to acquire. It’s time to bamboozle these fools with the Bait and Switch:
The reason we liked Cam Newton so much coming into drafts was because he RUNS. Well, that’s just not happening. Neither is the passing. The Panthers refuse to give this guy any...
