San Francisco 49ers @ Green Bay Packers

49ers 30, Packers 22

Defense wins championships! The motto that San Francisco will carry all season long.

Going in to the Packers' house the 49ers did what they do best, played great defense and controlled the ball.

Alex Smith did exactly what he has to do for his team to win.

Completing 20 of 26 passes for 211 yards and two touchdowns. He will never be the fantasy quarterback but real life-wise, he is just fine.

Frank Gore looked great against the Packers' rush defense and had 112 yards and a touchdown on only 16 carries.

The second part of arguably the best running back duo, Kendall Hunter, also put up some good stats rushing nine times for 41 yards, an impressive 4.5 yards per carry.

The receivers were led by Michael Crabtree who had 7-76-0 and was targeted early and often.

Randy Moss scored his first touchdown since Oct. 24, 2010, and hauled in four passes for 47 yards. Mario Manningham had four catches for 29 yards, and it is still tough to see what role he plays in this offense.

Vernon Davis is one of the elite tight ends and finished the game with 3-43-1, while the performance was a little underwhelming, we expect more out of Davis moving forward.

The Green Bay Packers have to feel a bit shocked after the defeat in Lambeau field on opening week.

A team that started the season a perfect 14-0 last year is now in an unfamiliar position at 0-1.

Aaron Rodgers finished the game with 303 yards and two touchdowns. Rodgers will have another magical year and this game was considered average for him.

Cedric Benson had tough sledding this week facing off against the No. 1 rated rush defense.

He finished with 18 yards on nine attempts. A brutal matchup next week against the Bears gives you another reason to keep Benson on the bench.

Greg Jennings had a a poor effort hauling in five catches for 34 yards before missing the final few plays with a groin injury.

Jordy Nelson had an okay week with five catches for 64 yards. A couple surprises however came from Randall Cobb who had nine catches for 77 yards and a 75-yard punt return touchdown.

James Jones was the other surprise as he was the leader in terms of yards having 81 yards on four receptions.

Jermichael Finley had seven receptions for 47 yards and a touchdown. A solid game out of the tight end slot. We should expect this production out of Finley every week.
