Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says midfielder Jack Wilshere has been ruled out for three weeks with an ankle injury, meaning he'll miss the team's Champions League game against Bayern Munich and England's next two World Cup qualifiers.
Wenger said Wilshere has an inflamed left ankle after being injured in the Premier League game against Tottenham and will be rested to prevent it from getting worse. Wilshere missed all of last season because of an injured right ankle, and Wenger said he wants to prevent a lengthy layoff this time.
Arsenal needs to overturn a 3-1 deficit in Munich in the second leg of their last-16 matchup on Wednesday.
Wilshere will also miss England's World Cup qualifiers against San Marino and Montenegro.
