Seahawks waive just one player on eve of roster cutdown day

The Seahawks have been quiet during roster cuts. That ends on Tuesday. While several teams across the National Football League announced early rounds of roster cuts on their way to their respective initial 53-man rosters, the Seattle Seahawks (as usual) have played it close to the vest.

Continuing to tweak their roster ahead of the preseason opener in Los Angeles this Saturday, the Seattle Seahawks made two transactions on Thursday. Seattle signed cornerback Willie Roberts and waived defensive lineman Matt Gotel with an injury designation, the team announced.
