We still think about these 20 celebrity houses featured on 'Cribs'

Cribs was the ultimate peek into celebrities' houses, and there are some houses we still think about to this day.

1 of 20

JoJo

MTV

JoJo's house was one of the rare houses on Cribs that really made us think celebrities were just like us. We learned later that it was JoJo’s uncle’s beach house she was passing off as hers, which made us retroactively question every celebrity house we ever saw on Cribs.

Tony Hawk

MTV

Despite questioning every celebrity’s house on Cribs, we do believe that Tony Hawk has a legitimate skate park in his backyard. Why wouldn’t he? He’s one of the only celebrities to have somehow managed to become famous for skateboarding. He deserves that backyard skate park.

Lil Wayne

MTV

Lil Wayne had a hot tub in the middle of his living room. A hot tub. And the layout of his house made it look more like a hotel than a home. Was it just for show? Probably, but at the time, it seemed like Lil Wayne was living like every rapper raps about. And we were happy for him.

Russell Simmons

Russell Simmons

Russell Simmons and his then-wife Kimora Lee Simmons showed off their insane mansion on an episode of Cribs just a few years before divorcing and selling the property. Whoever purchased it ended up with a home with two swimming pools, a sauna, and a theater.

Wayne Newton

Wayne Newton

Wayne Newton's house had a swimming pool for his horses, a grounded jet, peacocks roaming, and more. Located in Las Vegas, it was a bonkers property even by Cribs standards.

50 Cent

MTV

Remember when 50 Cent filed for bankruptcy? It could be because he spent all his money on a fridge full of Vitamin Water and put a strip club in his house. Vitamin Water is at least semi-understandable, but an in-house strip club is something absolutely nobody needs.

Usher

MTV

Usher's 10,000-square-foot home had lots of desirable features, but the most unforgettable was his enormous cedar closet. Many homes have cedar closets, but Usher's was larger than some apartments. But rather than housing people, it housed his many pairs of shoes and fur coats.

Mariah Carey

MTV

Mariah Carey’s home that she showed us on Cribs was amazing, but what was most unbelievable was that she took a bubble bath in front of the cameras. Every Real Housewife who has ever taken a bubble bath with their spouse owes a debt of gratitude to Mariah Carey.

Destiny’s Child

MTV

Some houses from Cribs are memorable for being absolutely stunning, while others were just bizarre. The Destiny’s Child episode featured all three members of the group, despite only two of them living there. Why Kelly Rowland was living with Beyoncé, her mom, and her sister, we do not know, but we do know that we will never forget Beyoncé’s bedroom.

10 of 20

Naomi Campbell

MTV

Naomi Campbell's house stood out for one incredible reason: she lived in a house formerly owned by Ian Fleming, the author of the James Bond novels. According to Campbell, the property is where he wrote the James Bond films.

11 of 20

Snoop Dogg

MTV

50 Cent wasn’t the only person with a fully stocked fridge of drinks. Snoop Dogg also kept his house, which included a basketball court and a recording studio, full of his favorite beverage: Crystal. To be fair to 50 Cent, champagne is much more expensive than a bottle of water.

12 of 20

Kim Kardashian

MTV

Part of the reason we can’t forget Kim Kardashian's episode of Cribs is because the highlight of her episode was showing off her stripper pole. But most of the reason we can’t forget her episode is because there was no reason for her to be on the show. The Kardashians' home was just about to be featured in Keeping Up with the Kardashians on a regular basis. We didn’t need a preview.

13 of 20

Ludacris

MTV

For some reason, Ludacris had his hallway painted to look like a swamp. We’re not sure whether he is just a big fan of swaps or he thought it was a really neat artistic design feature, but either way, we can’t forget it.

14 of 20

Richard Branson

Richard Branson

Before we knew every tech billionaire by name, we were enamored with Richard Branson and his unbelievable lifestyle. He was so cool that he was featured on an episode of Cribs, and he showed off his private island. Let that sink in. He showed off his private island.

15 of 20

Bow Wow

MTV

Whatever happened to Bow Wow? He was everywhere in the 2000s, but now seems to be MIA. We just hope he can still afford the enormous mansion and fleet of luxury vehicles that he showed audiences during his episode of Cribs.

16 of 20

Lil Romeo

MTV

Lil Romeo’s house was nice, but what was craziest about his house was that he was able to afford to live there as a child. Lil Romeo must’ve had a good agent because he was living a crazy posh lifestyle.

17 of 20

Gene Simmons

MTV

We do believe that Gene Simmons's home was actually his home. He didn’t have it staged for the show. He is the quintessential rockstar, and he proved it with his room full of Kiss albums and awards from a career of making rock music. Who are we to question Gene Simmons?

18 of 20

Wilmer Valderrama

MTV

Let’s get right to it: in the middle of Wilmer Valdarama‘s living room was a mattress. The mattress was not on a bed frame, nor did it have any furniture around it. It didn’t even have sheets on it. It still haunts us.

19 of 20

Missy Elliott

MTV

Missy Elliott had an affinity for things made to look like other things. For example, she had a Ferrari as a bed, a fish tank as a chair, and small dining room tables as a large dining room table. Missy Elliott had one of those houses that made us wonder why celebrities didn’t use their 2000s money on interior decorators.

20 of 20

T-Pain

MTV

Every episode of Cribs gave us a little bit of insight as to who these celebrities were and what they cared about. Apparently, T-Pain really cared about games because he had an entire arcade in his house. What we need now is a Cribs revival where they find out whether those celebrities are still living in their Cribs houses.
