Anthony Rizzo may be out for the rest of the season, but the New York Yankees first baseman still found a way to get tossed Thursday night.

In the top of the fourth inning against the Detroit Tigers, starting pitcher Carlos Rodón missed low on a slider to right fielder Kerry Carpenter. Rizzo, who was apparently still upset about the called third strike against center fielder Jasson Domínguez to end the previous inning, said something to home plate umpire Alan Porter from the dugout.

Porter didn't take very kindly to Rizzo's comment.

"Was that you talking? Get the hell out of here, Rizzo," Porter could be heard saying. "You want to talk? Go. You obviously wanted me to hear it, so let's go."

Rizzo smirked, shrugged and continued to go back and forth with Porter until he eventually left the dugout and returned to the clubhouse.

Rizzo has been on the 10-day injured list with post-concussion syndrome since Aug. 3. The initial head injury came all the way back on May 28 against the San Diego Padres, although Rizzo would take just three games off before playing in 46 of the Yankees' next 49 contests.

New York officially shut Rizzo down for the rest of the year on Tuesday. He finished the season with 12 home runs, 41 RBI, a .244 batting average, a .706 OPS and a 0.5 WAR in 99 appearances.

The Yankees looked like they were turning things around heading into Thursday, riding a five-game winning streak back to 70-69 record that put them within 6.5 games of the final AL Wild Card spot.

That luck ran out, though, and New York fell to Detroit 10-3 at Yankee Stadium.

According to FanGraphs, the Yankees have a mere 0.5% chance of making the postseason.
