Kyrie Irving's future with the Brooklyn Nets has been in question for the past few weeks. First, the 1x NBA champion wasn't even expected to re-sign with the Nets. But then he surprisingly opted into his $37 million player option.

Just as Nets fans were celebrating Kyrie's return to the team, out of nowhere, Kevin Durant requested a trade out of the Brooklyn Nets. KD, who has been a Nets player for the past three seasons, has simply had enough.

Durant's departure from the Nets is now all but certain unless a last-minute change occurs in the former MVP's plans. Once KD gets his request fulfilled, it is certain that Kyrie Irving will most likely get traded as well.

This will allow the Nets to enter rebuilding mode and once again build a team from scratch. But where will Kyrie Irving even get traded to? Well, for starters, he has been linked with a move to the Los Angeles Lakers all summer.

He could reunite with his former teammate LeBron James. The Lakers could also offload Russell Westbrook's hefty contract in an attempt to trade for Irving. But are the Lakers really serious about it?

NBA analyst and insider Adrian Wojnarowski recently revealed that the Lakers are yet to aggressively approach Kai. On the other hand, it feels like Irving is already preparing for a potential move to the city of Angels.

Yes, Kyrie has already purchased a $3.7 million mansion in Los Angeles. This has added further fuel to rumors of him joining the Lakers.

This could just be an investment from the Nets guard, but considering the timing of this purchase, Lakers Nation believes that Irving will certainly join their franchise soon. For that to happen, the Lakers need to aggressively try trading for the 30-year-old, before other franchises swoop in and take their target.
