Damian Lillard has been doing his best to shut down trade rumors linking him with an exit from Portland. The All-Star is currently in Tokyo with Team USA, trying to help lead them to another Olympic Gold Medal. But that hasn't stopped NBA insiders and analysts from trying to get a scoop on any potential update on his future.

The rumors suggest that Lillard wants to capitalize on his championship window and join a contending team. In fact, one report stated that Lillard is willing to forgo his salary demands in order to make a move happen. But Dame came forward and denied these reports. And now, an associate of Lillard took to Twitter to explain why that rumor was absolutely ludicrous.

Nate Jones, an agent that is associated with Lillard's agency, Tweeted about why the rumors about Lillard being willing to leave money on the table in order to join a better team were so ridiculous. Jones revealed that Damian Lillard is very meticulous with his money, and invoices almost every transaction he makes, regardless of the amount it costs.

Lillard is extremely specific and does not like to leave any of his money on the table. He also added that Lillard was close with his money, counting all the money he earned in his first two seasons. Lillard stays involved in his financial process and is very savvy when it comes to his accounts.

The story of Dame giving back $ is the funniest thing ever. Same guy that kept his entire per diem for his first two seasons and still approves EVERY SINGLE INVOICE (even as small as hundreds of $) personally. Yep, totally makes sense...

(Replying to a user): It’s for a business. Point is he’s a financially savvy person that doesn’t leave a dime on the table.

Lillard's approach to his finances is further proof that the rumor about him giving money up to join another team is not true. At the moment, despite Lillard categorically denying any desire for a trade, insiders have linked to him a host of teams in the NBA. But at the moment, Lillard is staying put in Portland.
