Best QB/WR Duo In LA: Rams or Chargers?
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

As we move closer to the start of the 2023 NFL season, the excitement in Los Angeles is palpable. Both the Rams and the Chargers have talented rosters with star QBs leading the way. One of the most intriguing questions is which team boasts the better quarterback-wide receiver duo. Is it the Rams with Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp or the Chargers with Justin Herbert and Keenan Allen? We’re breaking down each combination to help you decide.

Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp – Los Angeles Rams

Ever since Stafford came to Los Angeles, his connection with Kupp has been electric. In 2021, they combined for 1947 yards and 16 touchdowns, making them one of the most feared duos in the NFL, culminating in a Super Bowl Championship. This past season didn’t show their true ceiling as both were hampered early in the season with injuries.

Stafford, a proven veteran, brings his cannon arm and football IQ to the table, allowing him to make throws that few others can. Kupp, on the other hand, is known for his exceptional route running and reliable hands, exploiting holes in the defense and being a safety blanket for Stafford. This combination of skill sets makes them a nightmare for opposing defenses.

Justin Herbert and Keenan Allen – Los Angeles Chargers

Herbert, the younger of the two quarterbacks, has already made a name for himself in the league. His ability to make every throw on the field coupled with his poise in the pocket makes him one of the most promising quarterbacks in the NFL.

Allen, a seasoned veteran, has been one of the most consistent wide receivers in the league. His route running is top-notch, and his ability to make contested catches is second to none. The chemistry between Herbert and Allen has been evident since Herbert’s rookie year, and they’ve only improved since then.
