The folks over at ESPN can’t be too pleased with the fact the majority of picks have been leaked. Starting almost as soon as Seattle submitted their picks, top NHL insiders started dropping who was taken. Below is a full list of all leaked selections.

Unfortunately, the biggest mystery heading into tonight was if the Kraken would seriously consider taking Carey Price. Thanks to the insider, that was spoiled as the 33 year-old netminder remains with the Habs.

Trades in the works

There are rumors floating around that the Seattle Kraken may have a number of trades in place. One may be with the Chicago Blackhawks and the other is the New York Rangers.

According to Scott Powers of The Athletic, he reports that the Blackhawks do not have any deals in place. His colleague Rick Carpiniello on the other hand says the Rangers do.

Are the Rangers about to acquire Mark Giordano as Carpiniello speculates? If so, the 37 year-old left handed defenseman would be that veteran defender they’ve been seeking. He has the ability to play top four minutes as well as a lesser role on the third pair.

Giordano has one year left on a deal that pays $6.75 million. One has to assume the Kraken are going to retain up to 50% of his salary in a deal. But what is it going to cost the Rangers for them to do that is a bigger question.

Maybe more details will be revealed tonight. I guess fans will just have to tune in.
