It was Lakers Night at the Staples Center on Sunday evening as the Los Angeles Kings hosted the Edmonton Oilers. In a fitting tribute to the late Kobe Bryant ahead of Monday’s public memorial, the Kings donned Lakers-themed No. 8 and No. 24 sweaters during warmups in honor of the numbers Kobe wore during his legendary career.

Making the tribute that much more special, the warmups were auctioned off during the game, as highlighted by the Lakers in a tweet.

Jersey auction is live at https://t.co/G68V4UfXZ5 until the end of the second period to benefit the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation. pic.twitter.com/es4RFShNdX
The proceeds from the auction benefited the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation, Bryant’s charity that was renamed in honor of himself and daughter Gianna after the two lost their lives along with seven others in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, Calif., on Jan. 26.
As noted, Staples Center will be the site of another emotional event Monday when a memorial celebrating the lives of Kobe and 13-year-old Gianna is held.
