As December begins, all the NHL teams are hoping to close out the year on a high note with as many wins as possible. The Nashville Predators were off to a good start as they beat their Western rival Anaheim Ducks 3-2 in a shootout Saturday night at Bridgestone Arena. It was Nashville’s second win against Anaheim this season and their sixteenth of the year. For fans who watched the game, there were two possible classifications: hard-fought, physically brutal hockey with a lot of action and little scoring or, like Christopher Brooks of On the Forecheck pegged it “kind of like a bad Tuesday at work. Lots of board meetings, people yelling, not a lot getting done and at the end of it, it feels pretty disgusting to a lot of people.” Brutal, hard-hitting, and rule pushing are a few words to describe what occurred during the game outside of scoring.
