Hurricanes lose pair of defensemen to injury in Tuesday's game
Hurricanes defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere exited Tuesday’s loss to Vegas at the end of the first period due to a lower-body injury. Head coach Rod Brind’Amour revealed post-game that the injury was separate from the lower-body injury that held Gostisbehere out of the last three games, and forced a brief stint on injured reserve.

Carolina Hurricanes sign defenseman Joel Nystrom to entry-level contract
The Carolina Hurricanes have signed defense prospect Joel Nystrom to a two-year, entry-level contract, the club announced Tuesday afternoon. Nystrom, 21, collected eight goals and 26 points in 51 Swedish Hockey League games with Färjestad BK during the 2023–24 regular season.
