Despite several discussions of trading them for current assets, the market did not deliver what general manager Don Waddell was hoping for, so they selected prospects with each.

Blue Jackets first-round pick signs five-year deal in Russia

Columbus Blue Jackets goalie prospect Pyotr Andreyanov has signed a five-year deal with CSKA of Russia’s KHL, per Aaron Portzline of The Athletic. The deal will carry Andreyanov through his age-23 season in Russia’s top flight.
