Tottenham have been linked with a move for Bournemouth striker, Callum Wilson this summer after the Cherries were relegated from the Premier League.
The England man has been the standout player for Bournemouth for much of their time in the Premier League, and he is also one of their top earners.
They will struggle to pay his wage in the English second tier and selling him seems to be their only option at the moment.
Several teams want to sign him, but he has been seen as the perfect backup striker to Harry Kane.
Kane will remain the top striker at Tottenham should they sign Wilson, however, when the England captain is unavailable he will get his chances.
On a positive note with regards to him moving to Tottenham, former Spurs’ man, Jermain Defoe appears to be attempting to lure him to the north London side when he asked him on Instagram if he was joining Jose Mourinho’s side.
He wrote on Instagram as cited by Football London: “@callumwilson u goin spurs or what bro” followed by a winky face emoji.
Another ex-Spurs’ man, Michael Brown has claimed that he believes that the striker will join the club as long as he agrees to play on the wing.
He told Football Insider: “If it’s for £10 million there will be a queue of people who will want to buy him. It all comes down to whether they need a second striker.
“If a striker is going to Spurs they need to ask if they are a wide forward because Harry Kane plays the number nine role.
“If you see someone who can play out wide in a three or they can play two up top because Callum Wilson will want to play, I can’t imagine him going to sit on the bench.
