All In delivers for AEW and Tony Khan
AEW President Tony Khan. Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

There was a massive anticipation for AEW All In at Wembley Stadium in London, England. Nobody knew how big this event was going to be when it was announced by Tony Khan before the second Forbidden Door. This event lived up to the hype and even more as most knew it would.

Even though there was not a big-time match on the card compared to Forbidden Door, top to bottom the matches delivered and were fantastic.

Even with All Out next week, Khan and AEW were able to move stories along to be able to have two PPVs back to back.

There were a lot of naysayers when AEW announced All In at Wembley Stadium. This company will never sell more than 10K tickets. They will have to carpet off a ton of seats. All this little company or “secondary” company did was sell out Wembley Stadium.

AEW All In set new attendance records breaking WWE’s record for Summerslam 1992 and the actual Wrestlemania III record at the Pontiac Silverdome.

In fact, the final attendance was 81,035 setting a new attendance record for a professional wrestling event. Talk about a statement by All Elite Wrestling and Khan. AEW All In was truly the biggest event in wrestling history.

Zero Hour kicked the show off with Adam Cole and MJF (Better than You Bay Bay) capturing the ROH Tag Team titles from Aussie Open. Fans were chanting for the Kangaroo Kick and the Double Clothesline. Who would have thought fans would be chanting for moves like that? Even though there were teases of betrayal, these new best friends and an unlikely pair won gold because the fans wanted it. This added even another layer to the later AEW World Championship match.

The card was perfectly paced as the action was nonstop. But Khan wanted to deliver in England. And he really did. Every match was good, which is the MO of AEW. There are some matches that you wonder why they are on the card, you could say that about the Acclaimed and Billy Gunn taking on the House of Black, but even that was good.

This card had everything for everybody. Even if you are not a fan of AEW, you have to admit this was a good show. Yes of course there were some camera issues, but that is to be expected with so much going on.

For the hardcore fans there was Stadium Stampede and the coffin match, great wrestling with CM Punk and Samoa Joe kicking off the main card along with FTR and the Young Bucks for the AEW World Tag Team titles.

Speaking of Stadium Stampede that match was insane. Best Friends, Eddie Kingston, Orange Cassidy, Jon Moxley, Blackpool Combat Club along with Santana and Ortiz pulled out all the stops. Moxley is insane and as the crowd said he is a sick maniac. Moxley thrives in these types of matches.

Throw Penta El Zero Miedo into the mix and it was just a brutal match. Even after everything they saw, the crowd wanted tables and they got it with multiple table spots!

AEW knows how to deliver in the hardcore matches with three on the card with Stadium Stampede, the coffin match, and the World Trios titles match.

Of course, there was wrestling on the card as well with FTR and Young Bucks killing it as tag team wrestling is important to the card. The trio match with the Golden Elite and Bullet Club Gold and Konosuke Takeshita was fun as well as the opening match of CM Punk taking on Samoa Joe.

Fans were not disappointed, the crowd was electric all night long.

Hometown hero, IWGP United Kingdom Champion, Will Ospreay once again delivered on the big stage against Chris Jericho. Ospreay showed why he is the best wrestler in the world. The London crowd was behind Ospreay, he truly had a homefield advantage against Jericho.

Then there was the main event of the evening. After wrestling earlier in the night, Adam Cole and MJF gave the fans exactly what they wanted. All eyes were on the highly anticipated main event and who would turn on the other even though they were tag team champions.

These two guys did not disappoint. The story Cole and MJF told was excellent. MJF couldn’t pull himself to sink to his old depths early in the match until the referee got knocked out. Meanwhile, Cole was doing everything to win the title.

In the end, neither man could fully pull the trigger as MJF retained the title and sent the crowd home happy as two friends embraced in the ring to close the show.

It was truly a feel-good event for the fans. From start to finish the AEW faithful in London did not leave disappointed.

AEW pulled off an incredible event that nobody thought they could.
