Andrew Wiggins has officially announced that he will be lacing up for the Kansas Jayhawks for the 2013-2014 men’s college basketball season.  Andrew Wiggins will be attending Kansas — Grant Traylor (@GrantTraylor) May 14, 2013 Wiggins announced his commitment to Kansas today, the day before the late period deadline, in a private setting at his high school, Huntington Prep in West Virginia. The decision was made in front of his family, friends, classmates and only one reporter, Grant Traylor, from the Herald-Dispatcher in Huntington. “Keeping it small and personal like AW (Andrew Wiggins) wanted from day 1,” said Rob Fulford, his high school coach, on Twitter last night.  Wiggins The Canadian superstar is the No. 1 recruit for the class of 2013. Wiggins is also already projected to be the No. 1 pick in the 2014 NBA draft. The small forward is 6-foot-8 with an athletic build, and his ability to score the basketball in a variety of ways has made him one of the most hyped recruits in years. At Huntington Prep, he averaged roughly 24 points, 11 rebounds, two blocks and two assists per game.  Wiggins’ decision has been one of the most anticipated commitments in college basketball history. The rumor mill was constantly churning, despite Wiggins and his family staying mum about the process up until the final moments. Before deciding on Kansas, Wiggins debated offers from other prestigious basketball programs - North Carolina, Kentucky and Florida State.  Now that his decision is official, college basketball fans around the country can take a break from ‘Wiggins watch’ until the actual basketball season starts.  If you haven’t seen Andrew Wiggins on the court, here’s a highlight reel:
