Denny Hamlin has been in the headlines for all of the wrong reasons lately, this past week it was for a feud that sparked with his former teammate Joey Logano. Fast forward to Friday, and Hamlin was finally doing something to draw attention off of drama.
In Coors Light Pole Qualifying for the Auto Club 400, Hamlin reeled off a lap of 187.451. That lap equated to 38.410 seconds around the 2-mile speedway. His lap edged out Greg Biffle, and it marks the 13th pole of Hamlin’s Sprint Cup Series career, and it’s his first of 2013.
