Fast forward to Friday, and Hamlin was finally doing something to draw attention off of drama. In Coors Light Pole Qualifying for the Auto Club 400, Hamlin reeled off a lap of 187.451. That lap equated to 38.410 seconds around the 2-mile speedway. His lap edged out Greg Biffle, and it marks the 13th pole of Hamlin’s Sprint Cup Series career, and it’s his first of 2013.
