Watch: Mets’ Dominic Smith blindly crashes into wall trying to rob home run, laughs at himself
New York Mets outfielder Dominic Smith collides into the wall and cannot catch a solo home run by Atlanta Braves third baseman Johan Camargo in the fourth inning at Truist Park.  Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

Atlanta Braves Johan Comargo hit a deep fly to left-center field, and New York Mets left fielder Dominic Smith tried to track it down. The ball ended up sailing over the fence for a home run, and Smith, with his eyes looking up at the ball, never saw the fence coming.

The result was an amusing crash into the wall that had Smith laughing hard at himself after he popped back up.

Check out the funny scene:

Truthfully, Smith is lucky he didn’t bite his tongue or suffer another injury on that play. Thankfully he was fine after crashing into the wall, as his good spirits clearly indicated.
