The St. Louis Cardinals continue to shuffle their pitching staff in an effort to find the right mix on the mound. This week, the team recalled right-handed pitcher Gordon Graceffo from the Triple-A Memphis Redbirds and optioned right-hander Andre Granillo back to Memphis.
The St. Louis Cardinals selected the contract of right-hander Andre Granillo and recalled outfielder Michael Siani from Triple-A Memphis on Thursday. In corresponding moves, right-hander Chris Roycroft was optioned and outfielder Ryan Vilade was designated for assignment.
The Rule 5 draft, held annually at the winter meetings in December, never garners much fanfare, but it has been known to yield some noteworthy transactions.
