Kevin Durant Urges The Nets To Learn From The Warriors And Stephen Curry: "He Was Injured Going Into The Playoffs. The Team Still, You Know, Fought And Won Games."

Kevin Durant wants the Brooklyn Nets to take a gritty approach just like Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors. He wants his team to fight harder and win games.

Kevin Durant will soon turn 34 years old, but even at this age, he is still considered one of the best players in the league. But that doesn't mean KD's time with the Nets has been disappointing.

When he joined forces with Kyrie Irving, many expected the duo to lead the franchise to multiple NBA Championships. In reality, the Nets are yet to make it to the NBA Finals over the last three seasons.

The frustration resulted in Kevin Durant asking for a trade this summer. After weeks of drama, Durant ultimately decided to stay with the Nets. The Slim Reaper recently explained the full reason behind his trade request.

Kevin Durant Explains What The Nets Can Do Differently This Season

At the end of the day, the fact is that KD is still a part of the Brooklyn Nets. The organization still has a great roster and is considered one of the frontrunners to win it all next season.

But there is something that KD wants the Nets to learn from Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors. It's the gritty approach that the Dubs showed in the 2021 NBA playoffs.

"I'm like, we shouldn't be losing some of these games that we lost, regardless of who on the floor. I was more so worried about how we're approaching every day as a basketball team, and I felt like we could have fought through a lot of the stuff that I felt that held us back and championship teams do that.

You've seen it. Steph Curry and the Warriors, he was injured going into the playoffs. The team still, you know, fought and won games. Luka, he was hurt, their team still fought and won games. I felt like we had enough talent to do that, and that's what wrote some doubt in my mind is that when adversity hit can we keep pushing through it."

Durant made this point in light of the Nets losing around 10 games in a row when he was injured during the season. If a team is aiming to win the NBA Championship, they need to change that approach and learn from their mistakes next season.

While the Nets may learn from their mistakes, as per KD, the media will never. The former NBA MVP aggressively called out a reporter for twisting his words from the NBA media day press conference. The reporter tried to make it seem like Durant shared his thoughts on if he will ask for another trade in the future. In reality, it was far from that.
