The Minnesota Timberwolves had a great day on Tuesday, as they took on the Los Angeles Clippers and beat them to secure the 7th seed in the Western Conference standings.

The Clippers entered the game seen as favorites to win the game, but the T-Wolves had different plans, although things didn't start the best way for them. Karl-Anthony Towns didn't have the best night, struggling to get things going, missing chances on the offensive end, and living a nightmare on defense.

In the end, he fouled out the game, but that wasn't an issue for the Timberwolves. In fact, Town's absence from the match helped his squad present a new strategy against the Clippers, winning the match and getting ready to face the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the 2022 NBA playoffs.

Of course, they didn't do it on purpose, but keeping KAT out of the game opened new doors for the Timberwolves, and Tyronn Lue couldn't make the adjustments in that situation. After the game was over, the Clippers' head coach admitted that they had a game plan, but Minnesota did a better job.

“I thought they played their physicality up, you know, that second half,” Lue said. “We had a game plan how we wanted to attack them. They played a lot better without KAT on the floor. They got into us defensively, they were able to switch a lot of more stuff, and I just didn't think we made the right plays in those two quarters like you're talking about. I just gotta look at the film and kind of see what happened.”

"We did a good job with KAT. Double-team, physicality, keeping him out of the paint, so we did a good job with that and then when he went out, they kind of switched and you know --D'Lo was the guy I was worried about coming into, I knew Edwards would score because he's aggressive, but D'Lo was the one I was scared that could take over the game and he did that, so I should have done a better job, just adjusting, trying to get the ball off his hands, but he was pretty aggressive and he was able to carry them home."

The Clippers looked comfortable entering this match, especially with Paul George on the floor. However, things took a different direction, and Minnesota didn't miss their chance to take over and beat the Los Angelenos team. Without KAT, Russell and Edwards took over, scored the points that the Clippers missed and took a big W that put them in a good position. Now the challenge will be bigger. Ja Morant and the Grizzlies are waiting for them, while the Clippers will wait for the loser of the New Orleans Pelicans-San Antonio Spurs game tonight.
