Alvin Kamara Fantasy Football Outlook

Since the dawn of time, the running back has been king for your fantasy lineup. If you find a talented running back, your lineup is exponentially better. Find a talented running back who can soak up the carries while becoming a top-three passing option, and you have a fantasy winner. Alvin Kamara’s fantasy football outlook is your ticket to becoming a fantasy winner for 2025.

2025 Fantasy Football Profile: Alvin Kamara

Alvin Kamara finished the RB9 last season, even though he missed three games during the 2024 contest. Even though he is entering his age-30 season, Kamara averaged 19.0 fantasy points per game (FPPG) last season. Kamara was given the entire backfield as he recorded 228 rushing attempts while adding 89 targets. For those who hate math, that’s 317 opportunities to infuse fantasy points into your lineup last season.

Kamara just fell shy of a 1k rushing total last season but was able to put six of his rushing attempts into the endzone, the fourth-highest total of his career. He also averaged 4.2 rushing yards per attempt, the fourth highest of his career. Although Kamara is aging on a New Orleans Saints offense that looks like a shell of his former glory, he still shines for fantasy football.

2025 Projections

We should call Kamara SpongeBob this year because he has a chance to soak up all the work in the backfield again for the Saints in 2025. Kendre Miller is unproven, and Devin Neal is a rookie still learning to play in the NFL. The new Saints coach, Kellen Moore, must use all the weapons to turn this team into a competent offense.

The Saints will have to lean on their veteran running back, considering the issues they have at wide receiver with their two main threats, Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed, coming off injury. Let’s not forget the lack of talent in their quarterback room, as Spencer Rattler will start under center in Louisiana this season. Kamara will become the safety net for the inexperienced Rattler and a safety net for Moore when he needs the offense to put a positive play on the field.

One beautiful addition to Kamara’s profile is the strength of schedule he faces this year. Considering the Saints will not be a potent offense, and Kamara bucks the usual rule of drafting from good offenses, we need anything we can get to help boost his profile and show us the path to fantasy gold.

Kamara faces the seventh-easiest running back schedule this season. In six of the first seven games this season, Kamara will face a defense that allowed 19.5 or more FPPG to the position. Considering you have to play fantasy football in pockets (or quarters), Kamara gives your team the edge in the first two quarters of the NFL season.

Alvin Kamara Fantasy Football ADP

Kamara’s ADP on FantasyPros is 38th overall as of this article’s posting. At the beginning of the fourth round in a 12-team league, if you grab a running back with a potential opportunity built around 300+ touches, your team lives large and in charge within your fantasy league. Imagine your squad loading up on your pass catchers in the first three rounds and then grabbing a starting running back who is a volume king on a team whose game plan will center around him. Fantasy football is all about your player gaining the most opportunities to put points on the board, and no one fits that definition better than Alvin Kamara this season.
