The Los Angeles Chargers started their 2022 NFL season on the right note by defeating the division rival Las Vegas Raiders, 24-19.

Their defense dominated with six sacks, three of which were by Khalil Mack.

Derwin James had six tackles and a sack, while Joey Bosa had 1.5 sacks.

Asante Samuel Jr., Drue Tranquill, and Bryce Callahan had one interception each.

Unfortunately, cornerback J.C. Jackson could not join in on the fun due to an ankle injury that required surgery.

The Chargers would like to get the best out of him after signing him to a five-year, $82.5 million contract this offseason.

Luckily, he might have a shot at suiting up in Week 2, as NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero shared.

The Chargers will need all their key players on defense because they will be facing the Kansas City Chiefs in the first Thursday Night Football game of 2022.

The Chiefs scored 44 points in their victory over the Arizona Cardinals.

Having Jackson in the game could help them slow down Kansas City’s offense.

Other Chargers Players Dealing With Injuries

While Jackson is a game-time decision, wide receiver Keenan Allen won’t play against the Chiefs because of a hamstring injury that sidelined him from their practices this week.

Tight end Donald Parham Jr. will also be sidelined by a hamstring injury.

Tranquill is also a game-time decision due to a back injury.

Offensive tackle Rashawn Slater is also dealing with a back injury but is also a game-time decision.
