Perriman signed a one-year, $3 million deal with the Lions in March and was expected to fill out a receiving group that also includes Javon McKinley, Tyrell Williams and Geronimo Allison.
Perriman has gotten off to a rough start with the Jets after they signed him in free agency to replace Robby Anderson. The 27-year-old has just five receptions for 29 yards on the season.
